Are you hesitant or facing a
setback of some sort? The
following is a testimony
from one of our core leaders and her perseverance to
overcome an injury and
serve in ministry.
Here is my testimony of last
year’s “Fire Ignited Women’s
Conference”. I ask myself
and my heavenly father
“Who would have thought,
me “Debra” would be volun-
teering for the women’s min-
istry since 2015?” I’m learn-
ing to be humble and “Let
go and Let God” have it all.
I sometimes say what I think
without a filter and find my-
self asking for forgiveness
again…God knows I’m his
daughter and he’s working on
me daily. He is making me
more aware and helping me to
be a “Unique Woman of
Grace”. . Last year I broke my
hip 2 days before my 49th
birthday at work. I remember
that day like it was yester-
day…PAINFUL! Just recent-
ly I celebrated my 50th and
my daughter Francelle re-
minded me that I was not cry-
ing as I laid up in the emer-
gency room waiting for x-rays
etc. Looking back last year it

Debra Bouldin
The Fire Ignited conference is
surely going to change lives and
make a spiritual impact for the rest of our lives. I witnessed
chains being broken from wom-
en’s lives, leaving the confer-ence with much more peace of
mind and happiness. I am
growing daily, weekly and monthly with my sisters in
Christ. I pray for each of my
sisters to not hold back on at-tending this conference, for God
is calling us together to lock
arms, support each other and count on him! By attending and
staying committed, I let this
injury teach me to, persevere through hard times. I knew I
was going to be healed in Jesus’
name! I knew I could not miss this conference! I especially
would not miss the “spotlight
dance” for Friday night by the women’s ministry. Hip replace-
ment and all I gave that dance
my all. Even though rehearsals were a struggle I PERSE-
VERED.
Blessed is a man
(WOMAN) who
perseveres under
trial; for once he
has been approved,
he will receive the
crown of life which
the Lord has prom-
ised to those who
love Him.

Javier’s main
purpose in life
is to lead
many teens to
Christ.
Meet Javier By Myrna Cardenas & Edited by Deborah Makuma
Ministry Spotlight GRACE WALK YOUTH Javier has a huge
responsibility. His job is to encourage, educate, and keep the young minds inter-ested about serving Christ here at Grace Walk. After all, they are our future. Who better than Javier to take on this job? It’s Satur-day afternoon and I find him in the media booth getting ready for his ser-vice. A tough looking guy, with a cool beard (somewhat of a trend here at Grace Walk) and not afraid to sport his Raiders gear. Service is about to
start and through the win-dows of the extended seat-ing area, I can see the teenagers sitting patiently in the sanctuary. What a great sight to see! Today, I will be interviewing Javier along with his wife, Alysa, by his side.
Javier, the Youth Leader here at Grace Walk, and a devoted family man, was born and raised in Los Angeles. He moved to Phoenix at the age of 17 with his mom and three younger brothers. As a teenager, he played foot-
ball, baseball, and basket-ball. He had dreams of be-coming a police officer and an athlete, but left it all behind to care for his fami-ly, as he was the oldest and the man of the house. Javier and Alysa have been together for 14 years and were married here at Grace Walk three years ago by Pastor Joe. They have two beautiful children, John and Joselyn. Before becom-ing a Youth Leader, Javier worked as a greeter, an usher, and a security guard before finding his calling in Youth Ministry. Javier’s main purpose in life is to lead many teens to Christ.
