This offer is made to us all; whatever your background, we’re
delighted you’re here!
We’d love to connect with you this morning. Fill out the
Connect card and place it in an offering basket or return it to
our Welcome Table. Whether you’re worshiping with us for
the first time or are a regular part of our family, we hope this
morning will be good for your soul.
In his grace,
JAMES FORSYTH, SENIOR PASTOR

SONGS OF PRAISE
YOUR GREAT NAME WE PRAISE
Immortal, invisible God only wise;
In light inaccessible, hid from our eyes.
Most holy, most glorious, the Ancient of Days;
Almighty, victorious, your Great Name we praise!
Unresting, unhasting and silent as light;
Not wanting or wasting, you rule us in might.
Your justice like mountains high soaring above;
Your clouds which are fountains of goodness and love.
Chorus: Most holy, most glorious, the Ancient of Days;
Almighty, victorious, your Great Name we praise!
All life comes from you, Lord, to both great and small.
In all life you live, Lord, the true life of all.
We blossom and flourish, but quickly grow frail;
We wither and perish, but you never fail! Chorus
Great Father of glory, pure Father of Light,
Your angels adore you, all veiling their sight.
All praise we will render, O Father of Grace,
‘Til one day in splendor we see face to face! Chorus

LIVING HOPE
How great the chasm that lay between us. How high the mountain I could not climb.
In desperation, I turned to heaven, and spoke your name into the night.
Then through the darkness, your lovingkindness tore through the shadows of my soul.
The work is finished, the end is written. Jesus Christ, my living hope.
Who could imagine so great a mercy? What heart could fathom such boundless grace?
The God of ages stepped down from glory to wear my sin and bear my shame.
The cross has spoken, “I am forgiven.” The King of kings calls me his own.
Beautiful Savior, I’m yours forever. Jesus Christ, my living hope.
Chorus: Hallelujah, praise the One who set me free!
Hallelujah, death has lost its grip on me! You have broken every chain,
There’s salvation in your name. Jesus Christ, my living hope!
Then came the morning that sealed the promise, your buried body began to breathe.
Out of the silence, the roaring Lion declared the grave has no claim on me.
Then came the morning that sealed the promise, your buried body began to breathe.
Out of the silence, the roaring Lion declared the grave has no claim on me.
Jesus, yours is the victory! Chorus 2x
Jesus Christ, my living hope! God, you are my living hope!

CONFESSION OF SIN
Heavenly Father, we come before you laden with guilt for our sinful attitudes
and willful hypocrisy. In our pride, we consider ourselves experts on things that
matter to us, and look at those around us with disdain and disgust for not being
as good as we are. Our hypocrisy has blinded us to the sin in our lives while
we gloat over the shortcomings of others. Forgive us, Lord. May your Spirit
continually remind us that we are forgiven in Christ and that he has set us free
from our life of sin. Help us to live a life of joyful obedience fueled by grace
alone. Amen.
We acknowledge
our need of
forgiveness and
renewal through
the cleansing
blood of Jesus

ASSURANCE OF PARDON
COLOSSIANS 2:13–14
And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh,
God made alive together with [Christ], having forgiven us all our trespasses, by
canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he
set aside, nailing it to the cross.
GIVING OF THE PEACE
Leader: Since Jesus has canceled our debt through the cross, we now have peace
with God and with one another. May the peace of Christ be with you.
People: And also with you.
CONGREGATIONAL PRAYER
You can join us in praying for our community and world this morning; the Flock Notes are on page 9 in your worship guide. If you would like to submit a prayer request, fill out the prayer request card and place it in the offering plate. Read more about how we care for each other, as well as our local & global missions outreach, in the Flock Notes on page 9.
If you would like someone to pray with you after the service, men and women from
our leadership will be available in the front.
PRESENTATION OF OUR TITHES AND OFFERINGS
In response to the grace we’ve received, we seek to give cheerfully, diligently, proportionately, and sacrificially (2 Cor 8:1-15). Many of our people give online (mcleanpres.org); you can also place your gift in the offering plate.
Please also fill out the Keeping Connected pad and pass it down your row and back.
As recipients
of his grace, we
give back to
God a portion
of what is
already his
We give thanks
to God and
bring our needs
to him
We enjoy and
extend the
peace of the
gospel to one
another
God reminds us
of his promise of
forgiveness

OFFERTORY
CHRIST IS MADE THE SURE FOUNDATION
Chancel Choir (Sanctuary)
Christ is made the sure foundation, Christ the Head and Cornerstone.
Chosen of the Lord and precious, binding all the Church in one.
Holy Zion’s help forever, and her confidence alone.
To this temple where we call thee, come O Lord of hosts today.
With thy wonted loving kindness hear thy servants as they pray.
And thy fullest benediction shed within its walls alway.
Laud and honor to the Father, laud and honor to the Son.
Laud and honor to the Spirit, ever three and ever one.
One in might and one in glory, while unending ages run.

MY WORTH IS NOT IN WHAT I OWN
Congregation (Fellowship Hall)
My worth is not in what I own, not in the strength of flesh and bone;
But in the costly wounds of love at the cross.
My worth is not in skill or name, in win or lose, in pride or shame;
But in the blood of Christ that flowed at the cross.
Chorus: I rejoice in my Redeemer, greatest treasure, wellspring of my soul.
I will trust in him, no other. My soul is satisfied in him alone.
As summer flow’rs we fade and die; fame, youth, and beauty hurry by;
But life eternal calls to us at the cross.
I will not boast in wealth, or might, or human wisdom’s fleeting light;
But I will boast in knowing Christ at the cross. Chorus
Two wonders here that I confess: my worth and my unworthiness;
My value fixed, my ransom paid at the cross. Chorus 2x
My soul is satisfied in him alone.

SONG OF PREPARATION
GUIDE ME, O THOU GREAT JEHOVAH
Guide me, O thou great Jehovah, pilgrim through this barren land.
I am weak, but thou art mighty; hold me with thy powerful hand.
Bread of Heaven, Bread of Heaven, feed me ‘til I want no more;
Feed me ‘til I want no more.
Open now the crystal fountain, whence the healing stream doth flow;
Let the fire and cloudy pillar lead me all my journey through.
Strong Deliver’r, strong Deliver’r, be thou still my strength and shield;
Be thou still my Strength and Shield.
When I tread the verge of Jordan, bid my anxious fears subside;
Death of death, and hell’s destruction, land me safe on Canaan’s side.
Songs of praises, songs of praises I will ever give to thee;
I will ever give to thee.

SONG OF SENDING
WHO YOU SAY I AM
Who am I that the highest King would welcome me?
I was lost, but he brought me in. Oh, his love for me! Oh, his love for me!
Chorus 1: Who the Son sets free, oh, is free indeed.
I’m a child of God, yes, I am.
Free at last, he has ransomed me; his grace runs deep.
While I was a slave to sin, Jesus died for me. Yes, he died for me.
Chorus 2: Who the Son sets free, oh, is free indeed.
I’m a child of God, yes, I am.
In my Father’s house, there’s a place for me.
I’m a child of God, yes, I am.
Bridge: I am chosen, not forsaken. I am who you say I am.
You are for me, not against me. I am who you say I am.
I am chosen, not forsaken. I am who you say I am.
You are for me, not against me. I am who you say I am.
I am who you say I am. Chorus 2
In my Father’s house, there’s a place for me.
I’m a child of God, yes, I am.
