GPS-based Mobile Worker Safety App

Smartphone safety monitoring applicationWorkers often work out of sight and out of sound of other personnel and require a simple, non-intrusive solution to monitor their ongoing safety and enable a call for help whenever it may be needed.

Loner® Mobile is the first dedicated smartphone safety application designed spe-cifically to meet the needs of work alone safety applications. It is an easy-to-use component of a customizable safety system that includes the Loner Portal safety web application, Loner Background Services, and optional Loner Web Services.

Loner Mobile wirelessly communicates a Missed Check-in Alert to Loner Background Services when a worker has failed to check-in. Workers are also empowered with an emergency button and alerting to quickly call for help.

Safety alerts include geographic coordinates and address information to empower an efficient response to a safety incident. Loner Mobile also publishes GPS locations in the background according to a defined schedule, providing further location-based history.

When a safety incident occurs, Loner Background Services automatically alert moni-toring personnel via email and text message (SMS). Loner Portal provides an alarm banner that indicates safety alerts visually and audibly and is used to display worker locations on an interactive map. The Loner Portal call-out list escalates aging safety alerts to ensure response. If the first monitoring party does not respond to an inci-dent within a configurable period of time, the alert automatically escalates to the next party.

For organizations requiring call center integration, Loner Mobile is compatible with the optional Blackline Loner Web Services that provide software developers with tools to interface directly with Blackline’s infrastructure.
