Drive down was good weather but we found the torrential rainfall yesterday while I was trying to wash the car after the road trip. Tom and JoAnne H. rented a yellow Mustang while here in honor of Dwight H. He actually washed it with me in the rain and will be parking it on the show grounds. Had a great trolley tour through St Augustine last night and looking forward to the many beautiful Mustangs assembled for the event today. We are coming back from Florida and will be cruising with a good group of club members to Dearborn, Michigan April 22-24 to see the HJ Ford Museum and the Flat Rock Assembly Plant where late model Mustangs are built. We are celebrating the Mustang birthday here tomorrow and I hope you took advantage of the “Cruise your Mustang” on April 17 th with the Club and celebrated the Mustang birthday. Our All Ford Power Show Charity Event in June will be at Shults Ford’s new location which is very close to the current location. This is the Club’s main charity event so please plan to attend and help out with donations and running the show. Mustang night at the Northway Starlite cruise will be July 29 th and we will follow it up with a GPMC volunteer night there on Friday, August 19th. Keep an eye on the club website for upcoming Spring and Summer events. The Vintage Grand Prix is coming up in July. It is a great charity event and always a great time, with a lot of cars and enthusiasts. GPMC will be setting up tents overlooking the racetrack with food and drink and for a small fee you can join us and park your Mustang on the show grounds with other Mustangs. I am sure some members have great ideas for activities. Share them with the board or AD Tim. Also, if you have an article for the newsletter, please forward to Scott. Tim the Tour Man’s Activities Round-Up Activities Update for May 2016 Item #1: Mustang Day Cruise Thirty shining Mustangs showed up at the Wal-Mart in Natrona Heights on a blissfully beautiful day to begin a leisurely 90 minute cruise to Edwards Ice Cream Shop in Bairdsford on Sunday, April 17th. Heading first north through Freeport to Slate Lick before returning south through Sarver, Ekastown, and Russelton to the destination, GPMC attracted quite a bit of attention from the drivers of other cars and from the townsfolk we passed along the way. The group stayed at Edwards Ice Cream for about an hour before breaking up and returning home. Thanks to Dwight for suggesting the route and doing a lot of the work on the directions. Item #2: GPMC Activities Schedule The following activities are on the horizon for GPMC members

• Saturday, May 14, 2016 (please note date change--I had given Dwight the incorrect date for last month's meeting notes) - The SPRING STAMPEDE will be held on Saturday, May 14. It will depart on Saturday morning from the Monroeville/Murrysville area with the ultimate destination being Altoona and the Horseshoe Curve. Stops along the way are still being investigated, and more information will be forthcoming in the next week or so.

• Thursday, June 2 through Sunday, June 5, 2016 - Carlisle Ford Nationals, Carlisle Fairgrounds, Carlisle, PA • Sunday, June 12, 2016 - GPMC All Ford-Powered Car Show at Shults Ford, Gulf Lab Road, Harmarville, PA • Friday, June 17 through Sunday, June 19, 2016 - Can-Am Weekend, hosted by the Lake Erie Mustang

Owners Club in Erie. • Monday, July 4, 2016 - Leetsdale Fourth of July Parade (bring LOTS of candy to throw to the crowd!) • Friday, July 22, 2016 to Sunday, July 24, 2016 - Mustangs on the Niagara, Buffalo, NY - MCA show • Friday, July 29, 2016 - Mustang Night at Starlite Car Cruise in Wexford, PA, Mustang will be the featured car

at the cruise on this night. • Sunday, August 7, 2016 - GPMC Hospitality Picnic, Moon Park, Moon Township, PA • Friday, August 19, 2016 - GPMC Service Night at Starlite Car Cruise - GPMC gives back and helps the

organizers put on a night at the Starlite Car Cruise. • Thursday, September 1, 2016 through Sunday, September 4, 2016 - MCA 40th Anniversary Celebration in

Indianapolis, IN In addition, look for at least one "pop-up" ice cream and/or drive-in movie night cruise sometime through the summer. This will be communicated by email about a week ahead of time, so keep an eye on your inbox! Item #3 - Rally preparations begin Each year, I decorate my car with bright decals and head off for a charity rally organized by Rally North America. This year will be no different and preparations are underway for Big Sky Rally, which will start in Billings, MT and wind its way through national parks and mountain ranges before ending in Portland, OR. The anticipated route will take the rally participants through five states: Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, Washington, and Oregon. The rally raises money for a different charity each year, and this year's benefactor is Camp Sunshine in Casco, ME. Camp Sunshine offers a one of a kind retreat for children with life-threatening illnesses and their families, providing the needed health treatments for a week while also providing a time of respite and needed support for the patient's entire family. This is provided free of charge to the families. It is said that $2500 is needed to send a family to the camp for a week, and therefore, the goal of my effort, Team Miser Brothers, is to raise that amount and send a family to the camp for a week. Anyone wishing to donate to Camp Sunshine through “Tim's Team Miser Brothers” portal can do so at www.tinyurl.com/MBRT-BSR2016. All donations go directly to Camp Sunshine. All rally expenses are paid by the teams themselves through a separate registration fee. Visit the Team Miser Brothers page on Facebook for more information. Last year, donors were given a star on the car. That tradition will continue this year with a slight twist. Anyone who donates $20 will get a randomly-colored hand print decal on the car. Colors include blue, green, yellow, and orange. For $25, donors can specify which color they want. There are also now options for businesses to get their logo on the car. Contact me for more info. Thanks, Tim
