Stator Ground Protection Module:

Stator ground module works incombination with UR G60 to provide a100%statorgroundfaultprotectionthatisoperationalduringgenerator start-up,running and stopped conditions. In the100%statorgroundfaultprotectionbasedonsub-harmonicinjection,a20Hzvoltageis injectedtodetectgroundfaultsatanypointacross100%ofthewindingtherebyprotecting the complete stator windingand allowing early detection of statorgroundfaultconditions.

G60 Generator Protection System

The G60 Generator Protection Systemprovides comprehensive protection formediumand largegenerators, includinglarge steam and combustion turbines,combined-cycle generators and multi-circuit hydro units. The G60 includesadvancedautomationandcommunicationcapabilities, extensive I/O options, andpowerfulfaultrecordingfeaturesthatcansimplifypostmortemdisturbanceanalysisandhelpminimizegeneratordowntime.

20Hz Injection Module

Using sub-harmonic injection providesearly detection of stator ground faultconditions. This isaccomplishedby theinjection module generating a squarewave pulse of 20Hz with a magnitudeof +/-26V into the stator winding. Theinjectionmodulemonitorsthefrequencyandmagnitudeofthesignalitgenerates,which allows for the Stator module todetermineifagroundfaulthasoccurredinthestatorwinding.Inaddition,thestatormoduleisalsoequippedwithacritical-failrelaythatcanbewiredtoalarmfailure.

Coupling filter

The coupling filter is used to meet twofunctions: to smooth the square waveand convert it into a sine wave and toprotect the injection module from ACvoltageimpressedfromthesecondaryofneutral grounding transformer. Couplingfiltercontainsonlypassivecomponents.ItalsocontainsvoltagedividercircuitstobeusedonapplicationswithNGTsecondaryvoltagegreaterthan500V.
