Extensive power generation experience
Global Power Generation came to life with 2,944 MW of generating capacity in operation and a large project pipeline. It operates in Mexico, with 2 GW of installed power in combined cycle plants; and in Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Panama, the Dominican Republic and Kenya, using different generation technologies.
power generation amounts 13 GW, 7 GW of which stems from natural gas combined-cycle plants, 2 GW hydroelectric, 2 GW are coal-fired power plants and the other 1 GW of which is generated by wind energy. This mix is complemented by nuclear energy.

According to the International Energy Agency (IEA), new generating capacity installment requirements through 2035 are 248 GW in Latin America and 2,688 GW in Asia and Oceania.
Creating Global Power Generation responds to the interest of Gas Natural Fenosa to accelerate and enhance the growth of the generation business internationally and to evaluate investments in new markets outside Europe, where it is anticipated that the needs of new generation will be concentrated in the near future.
