◼ Founded in 2014, Gpacers Technology focused on low-energy wide-area Internet of
Things (LPWAN) communication technology to develop an IoT remote surveillance
system for personal safety for use in marine applications.
◼ In 2018, successfully developed the innovative Gpacers Poseidon Tracking and Rescue
System (GPT) which possesses real-time tracking and danger precaution functions to
protect divers and marine personnel.
◼ In 2019, the company advanced into industrial applications as a provider of IoT system

Focusing on LPWAN IoT technology to develop various applications. The relevant products includes 7 characteristic features :
1) High-penetration RF technology, LoS transmission distance up to 200 km, can be used in large factories and on large ships, in metropolitan environments (ground-to-ground, dense building barriers) and mountainous areas (hill forest barriers) reaches to about 2 km.
2) Diving-grade equipment waterproofing for divers and marine personnel
3) Fully autonomous system, no need to rely on internet or satellites, but can connect to each other, can be used in very remote areas and on oceans.
4) Capable to arbitrarily assign network model. Any node (transceiver) be set to a different function: transmitter, receiver or repeater, and can also upload to Data to the Cloud.

A. Marine Business Product Line
GPT performs long-distance real-time tracking and hazard precautions for maritime personnel, especially divers, providing information on identification and location if rescue needed. Related products are as follows:

Gpacers Poseidon Tracking Rescue System
Main function
Gpacers Technology is a company focused on innovative solutions
involving IoT marine applications. The newly released Gpacers Poseidon
Tracker is designed for personal safety and is a portable, long-distance,
real time surface tracking system which is fully autonomous and doesn’t
rely on any telecom system, thereby allowing it to be operated in very
remote areas.
Each GPT (Gpacers Poseidon Tracker) can be set to transmitter,
receiver, or repeater mode. This flexible design allows the GPT Rescue
System to be easily configured as a private IoT mesh network for tracking
and data transmission.
In addition to distress alerts, other precautions can also be set: (1)
when personnel drift out of a user-defined safety zone (2) weak, or loss of,
signal and (3) when personnel are in the vessel impact warning zone. All
data is also recorded to share, for playback, or for further study.
Other functions are: 100 m waterproof to satisfy technical diving
requirements; Battery endurance of 4~7 days on a single charge;
Underwater illumination by a 1.5 W LED at night and up to 100 people
can be tracked simultaneously, allowing the GPT Rescue System to be
used for military and large groups.
Basic Usage
The Poseidon Tracking System requires at least two machines, one set to
transmitter mode carried by personnel and one set to receiver mode and
linked to a smart device. This device runs the Gpacers App, which allows
for safety surveillance and detects and relays alerts to protect personnel.

Effective Surveillance Range
When a repeater is not used, the effective surveillance range is
equivalent to the transmission distance, but when a repeater is used
this range increases substantially.
The Line of Sight transmission distance can exceed 200 km.
However, on land the transmission distance is mainly limited by the
terrain, and more obstacles result in a decreased transmission
distance. The curvature of the earth is the major constraint to the
transmission distance in marine applications. The higher the altitude
at which the receiver and transmitter are placed, the farther the
transmission distance.
Uses for a GPT in repeater mode
When tracking personnel over a large distance, the receiving terminal (GPT
linked to a mobile device) can be set up in a rescue helicopter. A drone with an
attached GPT in repeater mode can also be used to increase the transmission
range. Placing the repeater at a higher altitude will accordingly increase the
transmission range. In order to overcome numerous obstacles, multiple repeaters
can be placed at a higher altitude to achieve and maintain an increased
transmission range.

GPT transmission capability
Maximum Transmission Distance
The received Relative Signal Strength Indicator(RSSI)and
Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) readings can be used to estimate
the maximum transmission distance。
According to the data obtained in this experiment, it is
estimated that the maximum transmission distance is around
200km, while the best data shows an optimal transmission
distance of 370km。
Marine Applications■ In marine applications, the curvature of the earth is the major constraint to the transmission distance.
■ The higher the altitude at which the receiver and transmitter are placed, the farther the transmission distance is.
■ In absence of obstacles between the transmitter and the receiver, the maximum transmission distance ( km ) of the GPT system 𝑑 = 4.2 ∗ ( 𝐻𝑡 + 𝐻𝑟 ) , is shown in the table. While the effective stable transmission distance is about 70% of the maximum transmission distance.
