Bangladesh is a growing market for telecommunication operation business.

Mobile telecommunication operation sector is the big fish among

Grameen phone Limited, widely known as GP, is the leading

telecommunications service provider in Bangladesh. With more than 20

million subscribers, Grameen phone is the largest cellular operator in the

country. It is a joint venture enterprise between Telenor and Grameen Telecom Corporation, a non-profit sister concern of the internationally

Norway, owns 55.8% shares of grameen phone, Grameen Telecom owns

34.2% and the remaining 10% owns by public and financial institutions.

Few months back Grameen phone decide to raise capital from the capital

market for repayment of overdraft facilities, network expansion, IT & general

and capital expenditure. So they go for Initial public offering (IPO) for issuing

common stock in the primary market. And enlisted both at DSE and CSE.

In our repot, we will try to describe the process of IPO, that grameen phone

use to raise capital. Like no of share they issue, who was the underwriter,

who was the issue manager, talk about important close of their prospectus

and many others. But our main concern will be to evaluate its IPO

performance in the secondary market. For that we will go week by week

share price analysis, then month by month analysis and at the end a overall

    analysis.
