Can you write a book or film review to let us know more about an interesting story that you have read or a fascinating film you have recently watched?

You could write it, type it, record it or film your review.

We have included some top tips to consider, you could also give your book/ film a star rating out of 5.

· Read the story starter, can you continue the story? (imaginative, creative writing task)

·Question Time (speaking and listening task) or you could write/type your answers to the questions.

· Sentence Challenge (practise your punctuation and grammar, focusing on adverbs and nouns this week) Top TIP - an adverb is a word that describes how an action is carried out. A noun is the name of something such as a person, place, thing, quality, or idea. Click on the link on the class page to view some examples of adverbs and nouns.

· Sick Sentences (practise improving the quality of your writing to make it sound more interesting)

· Picture Perfect (creative task) what do you think the bird is chasing?

- We have attached a new set of weekly spelling words from the scheme we use in school.

- We have also attached the Y4/5 list of common words as normal. Choose up to 15 words each week to learn and practise spelling. Use some of the multi-sensory ideas from the ‘Spelling Menu’ to practise your words each week. Ask your parents or older siblings to test you every Monday! Let your class teacher know how you got on!

- Enjoy reading for pleasure and for sustained periods of time – Read your favourite chapter books! Find some interesting facts from a non-fiction book that interests you! Read to a grown-up – Are you using plenty of expression and changing the tone in your voice?

- Remember to sign up to ‘https://readtheory.org/app/sign-up/role’ as a student and have a go at answering the questions about the text!

- Have a look at https://www.booktrust.org.uk/books-and-reading/have-some-fun/ where you can listen to your favourite authors reading their books, get writing tips, play quizzes and games and much more!

Languages and Communication – CymraegChoose 3 sentence patterns (weekly) to practise with your family.

You can also practise asking and answering questions from the book‘Papa Pop’. We have attached PART 1 this week.

Please remember that you don’t need to print out any of the activities – some you can answer/ play online and you can answer the questions on paper!

Cross-CurricularThis week we would like you to find out all about the main religion or religions within the country you have chosen to learn about. Can you find out the following;

The name of the main religion or religions The symbol associated with that religion Are there any religious practices that they take part

in, for example, Muslims fast during the month of Ramadan.

What is the name of the building where people worship? What does the building look like?

What festivals do people who follow the religion celebrate for example Christians celebrate the birth of Jesus at Christmas time?

How are these festivals celebrated? What religious clothing do people who follow this religion wear? Anything else that you think is relevant.

You can choose how to present your work - this might be a poster, or a Sway or Powerpoint presentation. We love to see your work so you can take a photo of it and upload, or upload in the usual way!

Health & Well-beingHave fun this week doing something together with your family!

Why not have a go at going on a rainbow scavenger hunt. Can you go for a walk and find all the colours the rainbow? These might be colours on natural objects like flowers or leaves, or they might be colours on man-made objects, like road signs. You could take photos and create a photo collage, or if it’s ok to do so you could pick things and stick them to paper/card.

Give the following ideas a go…

- Have a go at the 8 PE Challenges on https://tlg-pe.co.uk/killsathome/ Each challenge includes a video, instructions and equipment ideas. On the instructions you will see the GOLD, SILVER and BRONZE medals for the challenge. Let us know which medal you achieve! Good luck!
