Government Polytechnic, Aurangabad an Autonomous Institute, established in 1955 is one of the lead Institute in the state of Maharashtra.
Presently, Institute has been imparting Diploma (Engg. & Tech.) Education in eight programs namely, Civil, Mechanical Electrical, Electronics & Telecom, Dress Design & Garment mfg. Information Tech, Computer & Automobile Engg. Institute is also imparting diploma Education In II Shift for Civil, Mechanical & Electrical Programs & Part Time Diploma in Civil & Mechanical Engineering Programs.
Institute has been serving relentlessly over a period of more than six decades and therefore, has been aptly rewarded with “Best Polytechnic” award from Govt. of Maharashtra in the year 1996, ISTE’s “Narsee Monjee Award” for Poly having Best overall performance in 2006 and EEF Pune’s “ Award for Excellence” in the year 2008-09.
Institute has been also serving Industry and society through various continuing education programs (CEP). Following are few of noteworthy CEPs, “Mercedeze Benz India ltd’s. Advance Diploma in Automotive Mechatronics”, 2-Wheeler Maintenance course under Yamaha Training center”. The courses such as “Aircraft Maintenance Engg.” “Hotel Management Course” & Interior Design Course are also run as CEPs.

The historical city of Aurangabad is a tourism hub, surrounded by many historical monuments, including the Ajanta Caves and Ellora Caves, which are UNESCO World Heritage Sites, Shivaji Maharaj Museum as well as Bibi Ka Maqbara and Panchakki. Aurangabad city is also known for Automotive and Pharmaceutical Industries and much talked about ‘AURIC’ city as part of DMIC project. The weather of city normally remains very pleasant in
0the month of January with an average 29 C.
