1. Home Page

• The URL of the Government of Malta Recruitment Portal is the following:

https://recruitment.gov.mt (Figure 1) and should be accessed using Google Chrome.

• If you need to register for the first time you need to have a verified e-mail address or an e-Id account

2. Registration

• If you already possess an e-ID account, log into the portal from the login page below, selecting the e-ID

tab: https://recruitment.gov.mt/en/page/login (Figure 2)

• If you do not possess an e-ID account you need to register with your email address to create your

profile from the below screen, selecting the Register tab.

• Fill in the registration form with your First Name, Last Name, Display Name and E-mail and press Sign

3. Login / My Account

• Once you have registered for the first time you should receive an email confirmation with the

password generated by the system. Now you can login from the below screen in Figure 4.

• If you wish to login with the e-ID, click on the e-ID Login tab and enter your details as per below.

• Once you are logged in, on the right-hand side of the page you will find Figure 5 below changed to

Figure 6:

4. My Profile

Once you are logged in the Recruitment Portal, the menu will expand with the

following menus – home, my applications, my profile, vacancy search, inbox,

information, how to apply, about us and contact us.

My profile section includes personal information field, curriculum vitae and a

profile picture as optional.

The fields listed below are mandatory:

• Custom CV Document

• First Name

• Laste Name

• Gender

• Date of Birth

• Nationality

• ID Card No. / Passport No.

• Address

• Country

• State

• City

• Telephone

All the other fields are optional.

In the Certification section there are six options from which you can choose to upload as shown below :

1. Certificate of Conduct

2. GP47

3. Certificates

4. Supporting Documents

5. Three Year Plan

6. Motivational Statement

When uploading the Certificate of Conduct and the GP47 (and the ThreeYear Plan and Motivational

Statement when applying for Headship/Assistant Director positions) there is no need to give them a title.

The Certificates and Supporting Documents require that you enter a title and the area of specialisation.

There is the facility to upload two documents per section of not more than 3Mb each. Each section can be

selected multiple times with a limit of 6Mb per section.

5. How to Search for Vacancies

Once your profile is updated with all the necessary information and certificates, you can apply for your

desired vacancy / call. The portal has different sections and search facilities to help you choose.

The job portal is now divided in 12 distinct categories as shown in Figure 7 below.

The Vacancy search function will give you the list of ALL the vacancies available and the below functions.

6. How to Apply

• Calls are listed in the below form and a detailed description of the call can be viewed by clicking on

View Details as per below.

• On selection, this will expand to a full view of the vacancy which includes the Vacancy Brief

Description, Salary, Duties, Eligibility and Ministry / Department Details.

• This is a message of Declaration of Information that all the information provided in the application is

correct. There is also the option to leave a comment in the box provided and once you press the submit

button the below Message pops up.

• An email is sent to the registered e-mail account of the candidate to verify the vacany applied for as

shiwn below - with the Title of the Post, Vacancy Reference Number and Ministry:

7. How to Add additional documents

• Once the application has been received, the system will take a snapshot of the time and date of your

application and it will be possible to edit or add additional documents ONLY by the below feature,

which will be available once the application is still open.

• Click on the menu to the left

• My Applied Vacancies

• Add Additional Documents button

8. Dashboard

• The vacancy applied for can be viewed from the dashboard tab. Until the closing date, the system allows

the candidate to remove the vacancy applied for by selecting the remove button shown below.

• Upon closing date, no more applicants can apply and the candidate can withdraw the appllication by

selecting the withdraw button shown below. An e-mail is automatically sent to the relevant ministry to

inform them that an application has been withdrawn. This will automatically disqualify the candidate

and cannot be reverted.

9. How to Apply – Headship/Assistant Director Positions

Login into the system using your e-mail address (login) or e-id and password.

Before applying for the vacancy, please make sure that you have the following documents uploaded in the

profile as they are mandatory –

• GP47, Three Year Plan, and Motivational Statement

If any of the above documents are not uploaded, you may follow the steps on Page 6 to upload them.

Once they are uploaded on your profile you may proceed with opening the headship vacancy.

Please note that you will not be able to apply for a Headship/Assistant Director position without these

three documents.

• Select View Details and this will expand to a full view the vacancy.

• On selecting Headship Positions, as shown above, the whole list of available positions for that particular

call for applications is displayed.

• Select Apply Now once you are ready to apply for the Headship Positions. If you have something to

complete in your profile or have to add any required document, the system re-directs you to the profile

before you will be able to apply. Once you select the Apply Now button, the screen will change as

shown below. You will be required to make your selection by clicking a maximum of 4 positions of your

choice.

• Each Headship Position selected will be shown to the bottom of the screen in your selected order of

preference.

• You can change the order of preference by selecting the up-arrow to move

your preferred position up, and the down-arrow to move your preferred

position down. You can also remove a preferred position by un-clicking the

relative checkbox, or add another position (up to 4 positions) by clicking on

another checkbox.

• Once you are satisfied with your selection, click Submit.

The system immediately displays the screen shown below. The first sentence makes the prospective

applicant declare that any false statement in his/her on-line applications details may be grounds for criminal

prosecution.

In the comment box shown, one can enter any details in free text.

The Check-box to the left of the screen should be selected as a declaration that the personal information

provided is correct, and that any relevant testimonials, like the GP47, qualifications documents, transcripts,

conduct certificates, etc. have been scanned and uploaded onto this site.

The last paragraph is the Data Protection disclaimer.

Once you are satisfied with the contents of this screen select Submit. If you have any documents to upload

prior to your application, do not check the relative checkbox, and select the Cancel button.

Once you select this button, the system returns you to the screen shown in figure 9. If you need to upload

any documents in the profile, you have to return to My Profile and Edit - to edit your profile.

You will also receive another e-mail in the e-mail address specified in the system, showing the Headship

Positions for which you have applied for in order of preference.

10. Remove

If you had applied for a vacancy and you wish to remove this application, you need to go to Dashboard

and My Applied Vacancies, as shown in Figure 20 below.

My Applied Vacancies keeps a log of all calls applied for. If you had applied for a Headship Position, this

will be clearly seen under Job Title.

In order to remove the application BEFORE THE CLOSING DATE select Remove, as shown in Figure 21. In

this way, there will be no record of your application for this post, and your details will not be included in

the relative Selection Board’s Report at the end of the selection process.

Important. If you had applied for one or two Headship Positions, and need to apply for a further one or

two (remember you can apply for a maximum of 4 Headship Positions), you need to Remove the application

with one or two Headship Positions, and would need to apply once more specifying the new Headship

Positions. One cannot apply for one Headship Position, and make another application with another one

or two Headship Positions. You need to remove your previous application, as shown in Figure 20, and

make a fresh application.

Once the Remove button is selected, the system alerts to confirm your selection by selecting Yes. Once

Yes is selected, the vacancy is cleared from the My applied Vacancies list.

11. Withdraw

You can withdraw any application you had applied for after the closing date of the relative call for

application. The orange button will be shown as Remove before the closing date of the relative call for

applications, and will change to Withdraw after closing.

The procedure to withdraw an application is the same as to Remove an application, and you have to follow

steps shown in Figures 20 and 21 above.

Contrary to the Remove button, when an application is Withdrawn, it will feature in the relative Selection

Board’s Report at the end of the selection process.
