Recent initiatives
• Government of India has taken several steps to develop the enterprises and self employment in the country. Some of these are:
Make in India Campaign
Digital India
Skill India programme
Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana
Start Up India
Stand Up India
• SIDBI/ MUDRA is involved in all these programmes

Genesis of MUDRA
NSSO survey (2013) - 57.7 million micro units in the country, employing around 100 to 120 million people.
Mostly individual proprietorship / ‘Own Account Enterprises’
Over 60% of units owned by persons belonging to vulnerable sections like Scheduled Castes (SCs), Scheduled Tribes (STs) or Other Backward Classes (OBCs)
Less than 5% access funds from formal banking system – borrow from informal sources, use own funds
Hon’ble FM announced formation of MUDRA Bank and PMMY in the budget for 2015-16
MUDRA launched by Hon’ble Prime Minister, as a NBFI, wholly owned subsidiary of SIDBI
Has its Registered and Corporate Offices in Mumbai; SIDBI office across the country extended arms of MUDRA

MUDRA at a Glance
MUDRA, a wholly owned subsidiary of SIDBI, with Rs 5000 crore authorized capital and a net worth of ` 1900 crore;
has 10500+ crore balance sheet
MUDRA provide refinance and credit Guarantee support to last Mile Financiers (LMFIs)
An allocation of ` 20,000 crore as corpus fund for refinance has been made by RBI in May 2015; ` 8,125 crore drawn so
far
Partners with 187 institutions including 89 banks (27 Public Sector Banks, 18 Private Sector Banks, 31 RRBs, and 13 State/ Urban Cooperatives Banks), 68 MFIs and 30 NBFCs

MUDRA Activities- Key highlights
Extended refinance of more than ` 6864 crore to 16
PSBs, 23 MFIs and 2 NBFCs.
Funding also extended through Securitization, and participated in 6 investments in Pass Through Certificates.
Monitoring of PMMY performance through dedicated portal.
Business literacy through MUDRA App.

MUDRA Card for hassle free credit Hassle free credit to small borrowers (especially to those in lower
segment viz., Shishu loans); Loan drawal on demand with flexibility in operation.
MUDRA card help in digitizing MUDRA loan transactions and facilitate less cash regime.
A co-branded card with MUDRA and the issuing bank, issued directly or in association with MFI/NBFCs.
A common layout / design for MUDRA card, approved by NPCI.
Mudra Card- Debit card on RuPay platform; operable on ATMs and
POS machines.
MUDRA provide refinance / credit guarantee against loans granted
under MUDRA Card.
5.17 lakh cards for `1477 crore issued as on 31.3.2016.
1.83 lakh cards for `1490.91 crore issued during FY 2016-17.

PMMY
PMMY launched on 08 April 2015 envisages lending to micro enterprises with credit needs upto `10 lakh.
Income generating activities under manufacturing, processing, trading, service sector and allied agriculture Programme implemented through Banks- PSBs, Pvt Banks, RRBs and NBFCs/ MFIs A target of `122,118 crore & `180000 in the past two years;
current financial year Rs 2.44 lakh crore target Target achieved in both years; a cumulative amount of Rs 3.15 lakh crore for 7.50 crore accounts A dedicated portal, linked to MUDRA website, for weekly updation of the progress by banks, MFIs and NBFCs. Information about state wise / district wise / bank wise performance with disaggregated data on category of loan, category of borrowers captured.

Analysis of PMMY performance in MP
during 2016-17

• Total number loan accounts : 26.83 lakh
• Amount of loan sanctioned : Rs.10506 cr
• New loan accounts : 5.24 lakh
• No. women entrepreneurs : 20.08 lakh
• No. SC/ ST funded : 7.25 lakh
• Loan sanctioned by PS Banks : Rs. 3891 crore (2.95 L a/c)
• Loan sanctioned by Pvt. Banks : Rs. 1957 CR ( 5.49 L a/c including 1.85 L a/c of Bandhan Bank Ltd) )
• Loan sanctioned by RRBs : Rs 347 Cr ( 0.34 L)
• Indore has maximum sanctions in loan a/c, followed by Bhopal, Jabalpur and Ujjain

Convergence with Govt. programme

• PMMY is to fund the income generating micro enterprises
• It is for both new units and expansion of existing units
• Initially the programme covered enterprises in manufacturing, trading and services
• Activities allied to agriculture is now included
• Objective of the Programme to support income generation and employment creation
• Any Govt. programme supporting enterprise creation can be funded under PMMY
• GOI/ State Govt. schemes for skill development/ enterprise creation can be part of PMMY

Road ahead
प ूंजी सफलता की क ूं जी
• The self employment schemes Mukhyamantri Yuva Udhyami Yojana, Mukhyamantri Swarozgar yojana nad Mukhyamantri Arthik Kalyan Yoajna has provided self employment to over One lakh entrepreneurs.
• Target for 2017-17 is 1.30 lakh entrepreneurs
• In addition PMMY, Stand Up India and Start up India offers good prospects to youth in MP
• Tying up with RSETIs in the State is a means of achieving higher linkage
• RSETIs are facilitating institutions on www.udyamimitra.in a platform for applying for loans
