ENROLMENTS 2020

Enrolments for next year are now due.

If you have a child starting school next year or know of any-

one, please pick up an enrolment pack from the office.

Goulburn West Snowsports team

In July four Goulburn West students competed in NSW interschool championships. All students did an amazing job and had a great time.

New comer Violet Ottley placed mid pack in Division 4 Alpine putting her in 31st position. Well done Violet.

Will Ryan in Alpine Division 4 did a smashing 45 second run improving his times greatly.

Scarlett Brinkley did an amazing effort in Division 5 Alpine placing 21st, in skier cross Scarlett had great runs finishing 26th.For the first time this year Scarlett entered Boarder cross, placing 13th. Scarlett has been practicing hard to develop her boarding skills after showing off her talents last year in States on her skis.

Pocket rocket Lola Brinkley had a super-fast time of 27.28 in her second run Division 6 skier cross but was disqualified in her first run. Lola the youngest of the Goulburn students competing in Division 6 Alpine placed 12th which has secured her a place in the State titles.

Good luck to Lola on Tuesday the 20th and well done on a fantastic effort to all competing West students.

BOOK WEEK IS COMING!

We will celebrate Book Week on Thursday, August 29th

with two performances, a book fair and our much-loved

book character parade.

This year, the parade will take place at 10.45am and par-

ents are invited to stay afterwards to browse and buy

from the Book Fair and share a picnic lunch with their

child/ren.

Notes have gone home regarding the performance.

The Premier’s Reading Challenge finishes in less than a

month! Infants students will have their records updated

and completed at school, whilst Primary students are expected to complete theirs at home. The Stage

2 teachers have been assisting their classes in attempting the challenge, but the students will need to

obtain a record of what they have already read from their teachers in order to complete it. The expec-

tation is that Infants students will read 30 books and Primary students will read 20.

Colouring Competition

Have you entered the colouring-in competition yet?

Colouring sheets are available in the Library. Entries to be handed back in, to the library, by this Friday

23 August, one entry per student. Great prizes to be won!

Goulburn West will be running a Pokemon Club for students.

The club is for students interested in playing the Pokemon card game. There will be mentors for those new to the game.

They meet during recess time on Wednesday in the library.

NO cards are to be brought in from home.

Due to some very generous donations from , and some of our Goulburn West families, the school has several decks of cards that the

club will play with.

If you have any questions about the club please contact Mrs Gooch.
