Who Will Stop and Help

While some Christians stayed home this Christmas, I gladly went to church with my family. After all, the reason for the season was Jesus’ birth. And what better place to honor and celebrate His birth than in the house of God.

Pat on the back for me! I fulfilled my religious obligations without any complaints.

Ha! Let’s back this picture up.

Most church attendees have heard the story of the Good Samaritan at some point in their life. And boy how we condemn the Priest and the Levite for their lack of concern for a human in distress.

I too am just as guilty.

As our family traveled to church on Christmas morning, we witnessed a car that apparently had a blowout, hitting the concrete wall and spinning out. Thankfully, no one hit the man.

But I quickly noticed that no one, I mean no one, stopped to see if the man was ok - physically or emotionally. No one stopped, including us.

As I made comments, hopping that my words would irritate us enough to stop, I was shamed that we flew on pass the man who clearly, was in shock at what had just happened and the destruction to his car.

It was hard for me to really worship God in service that morning, knowing

that I had passed a soul who needed me on that CHRIST-morning. Even though I was not driving, I could have been more vocal about serving that man. Yet, I just let it go at suggesting someone call for help.

Everyday there are people who’s lives are crashing, spinning out of control with major destruction guaranteed to their life and even their soul.

How often do we look at those people and say, “Lord help them”, and ask God to send someone else their way to do the job God placed us in their life to do? Maybe we invite them to church so that the Pastor or the preacher will do our job and tell them about God.

This year, I don’t want to let anyone else do my job. I don’t want to be guilty of pretending to care, but not inconveniencing myself. It’s my time to stop and help!

“Excuse me!”

“Did you happen to see where my 2011 fly off to?”

I don’t know about you, but 2011 seem like a blur. At moments there are dates that seem like they were a year ago, and others that seem to have recently happen.

2011 flew by me on a bullet train, leaving me wondering how much of my plans were actually accomplished.

I’m sure I’m not alone in this daze and amazement of how quickly the year came and departed. Truly each day’s “life expectancy” is the length of a vapor.

This thought can be either frightening or an encouragement, depending on how we each choose to view it.

Many people live their live constantly at the mercy of time - always in a rush, but accomplishing little. They wait until it’s too late to do what needs to be done. They fill their “to do list” with more needs than what can realistically be accomplished. Or they start doing what need to be done, but quickly become distracted doing the other things that really don’t have to be done “at this moment”. These habits lead to the panic of “I never have enough time!”

Then there are those who see the limited amount of realistic time in a day as a guideline to help them prioritize what ‘MUST” be done. They have learned to “want” to get done what “must” be done before doing what they would “like” to get done.

As we give our time to God in 2012, we must ask Him what “MUST” be done while it is day? How do we use our time to reach souls this year? How do we give meaningful time to our families? How do we give acceptable time to ministry service?

Even if the year is traveling on a bullet train, with God’s wisdom and help we can do what “MUST” be done in 2012.

This is the Day the Lord Has MadePsalm 118:24By Bishop Brenda K. Perry

Happy New Year to everyone! This is not just another day, but another year that the Lord God Almighty has made for us. So I chose to rejoice in it. Although leaving last year with sweet and sadness behind me, I will always rejoice and be glad in the Lord.

Looking at the newspaper headlines and magazine as well, and listening to everyday broadcasting of news that’s happening around your community and the world, you can see the fulfillment of God’s Word coming to pass. Presidents and presidential candidates around the world are making promises knowing they can’t keep, or even make possible without God’s help. We, as Christian believers, must look up and see that our redemption draws near. So for us to get caught up in the entire world’s problems is foolish. We must remember that this world is not our final destiny, but heaven and all of God’s purposes that have to be fulfilled. The patriarchs of old said it this way in Hebrew 11:13b, “…that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.” There is not too much to rejoice in this world.

What would be the one thing that would keep our soul rejoicing every day? Would it be fine material goodies? If you are single, would it be finding the right soul mate, or achieving life goals? No. Those things are temporal, and they will soon pass

away. The Bible tells us in Matthew 6:19 “Do not lay up for yourselves treasure on earth.” Why? God does know that so many times His people set their whole being upon things that will profit very little if anything at all. So what could it be that would keep us rejoicing everyday of the year?

Don’t Worry Jesus Has it CoveredMatthew 6:31-32, Psalm 55:22, 1 Peter 5:7, Rev. 1:8

By Minister Isaac Bazile

You know a few days ago I found myself worrying about a certain situation in my life and I was praying asking the Lord to help me through this situation.  Then I read an excerpt in the “Word Today” and it was talking about worry and how we deal with it and it talked about “Casting all of our cares upon Him.”  The writer said that worry was a lack of trust in God.  That statement caused me to think  if  it was a valid statement or not, it was a very profound statement.  I said to myself “WOW” I never thought of it that way.

That statement rang out so loud in my heart, I thought sometimes we get so caught up in worrying about what goes on in our life that we begin to worry about worrying. The writer also said that someone said just don’t worry about it!  That very simple and powerful statement “Just don’t Worry about it” to me indicates that the truth is if we put our complete trust in the Lord, we will begin to understand that He has us covered. The word of god constantly reminds us of that fact,

O Taste continued from page 2

First would be that preferred relationship with our Father and Savior. Each day we arise and will have that burst of energy “to come boldly to the throne of grace” knowing that we have placed Him first on our agenda for the day. Let’s go and check out Matthew 6:9-15 how Jesus taught His disciples how to pray. Following this example of prayer each day will put you in close relationship with the Father and the people of God.

Second would be having that willingness of heart to be open for God’s will at any given moment. Whenever the Holy Spirit speaks to you and tells you what the Father wants you to do for His glory. Yes, setting your heart to please Him, it would bring joy to your soul. 1Samuel 15:22 reads “to obey is better than sacrifice,”

Third would be having a willing heart in giving, whether it’s finance, time, even yourself or whatever the obligation that’s requested of you, as you would take that willing spirit of yours and say “Yes Lord. Thank you for giving me this opportunity in meeting the challenges in showing how blessed I am through you Lord and your saving grace.” Acts 20:35b reads, “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” Remember what you measure out is how much you get in return is more than money. What about kind words, or a helping hand. Read Proverbs 3:26.

Fourth and last being that witness for our Lord by telling somebody about the goodness of the Lord which has transformed your life. Romans 1:16 reads, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes.” We testify of the works of Christ and how it has change our lives in James 5:20, “….he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death and cover a multitude of sins.”

Look who rejoices when a sinner comes to God’ in Luke 15:7, “I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents.” There are scripture in Psalm 126 that tell of Zion’s rejoicing in the return of the Jews that were in captivity. Well, we can use these scripture for us today in reaching lose souls. In verse 5-6 “those who sow in tears shall reap in joy. He who continually goes forth weeping, bearing seed for sowing, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.”

Rejoice, rejoice and be glad!

(Matthew 6:32, NKJV) says;” For after all these things do the Gentiles seek: for your heavenly father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.” So this means before you begin to worry abut what ever comes our way the Lord already knows and he has it covered.

Worry can’t clothe us, feed us, pay our bills, make our lives better, and most assuredly it can’t improve our current situation. Worry can only take form us and cloud our judgement, the decision we make, it impairs our prayer life and relationship with the Lord. Worry can also hinder us spiritually. We should always guard our pray life and relationship with the Lord. The word of God tells us to “Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be removed” (Psalm 55:22 NKJV). HE’s literally telling us he has us covered, “Casting all of your care upon him; for he careth for you” (1 Peter 5:7, NKJV), He knows what we need before we need it, he has the solution before we present the situation, and he knows the end from the beginning, “I am the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.” (Revelation 1:8, NKJV). What comfort it is to know that Jesus has it all in control.

Worry creates or brings about anxiety. The average Christian’s anxiety is focused on:

40%,things that will never happen 30%,things about the past that can't be changed 12%,things about criticism by others, mostly untrue 10%,about health, which gets worse with stress 8%,about real problems that will be faced. 'Let us give up our work,

iWIN 2012

I am so excited anticipating what God will do through iWIN 2012 at New Life Temple. What is iWIN? I am glad you asked.

As Christians we can become so focused on our faith journey that we forget God’s command to go tell others the Good News. We tend to feel that inviting someone to church

fulfills Matthew 28:19-20 which reads, “ Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.……”

Yes, church inviting is important, however it is only a small piece of Matthew 28:19-20. Inviting someone to church is not evangelizing. It is pre-evangelizing. Evangelism is not a personal testimony. Our personal testimony doesn’t save a sinner. The gospel does. Our good deeds, feeding or clothing someone does not prepare a soul for eternity. All of these acts compliment the gospel. They do not replace it.

But what is iWIN? I’m almost there. We must first be sure we understand what evangelism is. Evangelism is a believer sharing the person of the gospel of Jesus Christ with a person who has yet to believe the claims of the gospel, or trust the person at the center of the gospel – Jesus Christ. Now with that being said, I will tell you about New Life Temple’s focus for 2012 in iWIN.

iWIN is an acronym for the following:

“i” stands for “Personal”. Evangelism is personal. Jesus anointed us to do this when He gave the great commission. There are people assigned to you who only you can minister to.

“W” stands for WITNESS. We must witness in speech and in our lifestyle.

“I” stands for INTERACT”. Sharing the gospel will cause you to interact with person. Concern, compassion, love must be exercised

in following up with that person (if at all possible). There immediate situation should be addressed with prayer, or directions, or even meeting a physical need.

“N” stands for nurture. Our goal is to help people to develop in Christ, so encouragement must be maintained. Encourage them to pray, read God’s word, attend church services and bible study.

LIL Chocolate BoY

In June, I took the Research and Writing English course for a brief and concise five weeks. The class quickly flew by without any intentions on stopping or pausing; it was crazy! Thankfully, God truly helped me write my research paper with ease and I came out of the class with an A. HALLELUJAH!!!

Throughout the various lessons, the lengthy power points, and the touch-up reminders of where commas go, the topic of plagiarism really attached itself to my mind. Plagiarism was my teacher’s take home point no matter what the discussion was about. She made sure that we had this concept recognized from head to toe, engraved in our hearts, and tattooed in our minds. You could not escape her reminders of “PLAGIARISM.” It sounds intense and it should because of the different things at stake.

The basic definition of plagiarism is to practice taking someone else's work or ideas and passing them off as one's own. When writing a research paper, specifically, you are demanded that you cite the information that you are using from another source or sources. Since this information

does not belong to you and you know for a fact that you found it elsewhere, citing should naturally become a routine habit like breathing or blinking for you, the writer. The purpose of citing has three main points:1. To acknowledge the original author of the source and their findings.2. To give credibility and vigor to your paper.3. TO AVOID PLAGIARISM AND SUFFERING CONSEQUENCES!

If you were to actually plagiarize, your paper would automatically receive a zero and you would possibly face the alternative to retake the course. Sadly extreme. If you do not cite a particular source correctly, it is plagiarism. If you do not place quotations where they are supposed to go, it is plagiarism. If you forget to mention that you used an author’s idea or thought, it is plagiarism. But there is an easy solution to avoid this path and dodge this obstacle: Just Correctly Cite!

Now, the good part. God has gifted every individual in the entire world with something special. Whether it is just one gift or many gifts. God has gifted everyone in a genuine and unique way. Artistically speaking, there are many dancers, orators, artists, musicians, actors, poets, vocalists, and performers that

have been greatly gifted by God with amazing talents. God purposefully placed the gift of preaching, teaching, encouraging, giving, evangelizing, and outreaching on some people that He did not for others. Some of us even have the ability of being people friendly or easygoing around any audience or in any atmosphere. God has undeniably blessed us all with a lot of that something special. But as Christians and believers of the faith, do we plagiarize God’s gifting in our lives and attest them as being our own doings?

Personally, I know God has gifted me to dance out of my mind along with other awesome gifts. Initially, after a performance or some type of a freestyle dance session, people would shower me with compliments. Although I was not cocky when accepting them with open arms and remained humble as possible when they came my way, I did not acknowledge God with my mouth or heart and let my audience know that it was only because of God . PLAGIARISM! At first, this was my mentality. Now, nevertheless, my heart, my mouth, or both make sure to redirect the worship, praise, compliments, and acknowledgment to the One

our plans, ourselves, our lives, our loved ones, our influence, our all, right into [God's] hand; and then, when we have given all over to Him, there will be nothing left for us to be troubled about.""

Christians stand in the narrow pass of today. If they choose to battle every difficulty at once, they're sure to suffer defeat. But if they trust God and take their troubles one by one, they will find that their strength is sufficient.

Remember, don’t worry. Jesus has it covered, and he has you and I covered by his precious blood..

who gave me the gifts to, the One that really deserves it all. All that I am doing is practicing, strengthening, and perfecting the goodness God has already instilled within to look more like Him.

Begin to consider all that God has done for you and all that He has allowed you to accomplish. It was never by your strength or might, but by the power of God. Your intelligence, your charisma, your energy, your sensibility, and your breaths of life are because of the Creator. You maybe naturally gifted in sports and as a believer, you have every right to let your teammates know that God has blessed you with the special skills and abilities to move so well, or to react so swiftly. We must know that it is in “Him that we live and move and have our being” (Acts 17:28). It was God’s breath of life that was deposited into the nostrils of man and allowed him to open

his mouth to speak. It was God’s intricate thoughts and way, not ours, that allowed man to be able to think so comprehensively (Isaiah 55:8). It was God's perfect craftsmanship that designed our bodies to function as a seamless whole. Although every opportunity may not grant you the permission to verbally tell someone that it is by His might, remind yourself that it was God. We can only do all things through Him that strengthens us (Philippians 4:13).

Therefore, if you profess to be a Christian, and claim that Christ is the Author and Finisher of your faith, acknowledge the Source that makes you exist. Our gifts are not to be prostituted for our fame and glory, for monetary riches that will soon pass away, or for the world’s insatiable vain desires. God did not bless anyone with gifts for their own welfare and benefit, but rather that it would revert back to Him, the Giver, and uplift Him more. Since we are made in His image, our gifts should be an amplified enhancement of who God is. Cite the source where you received your resources from. By acknowledging Him, we put more credibility into our lives and avoid plagiarizing His awesome splendor.God’s_Charlie

I never knew just how

flawed my American

education was until this past December. I mean it’s

shameful how I was miseducated in these places we have labeled “schools”!

And the fact that my parents paid taxes thinking I was getting a proper education...seriously, they didn’t know any better. They received the same sham of an education as well.

America really should be ashamed of itself! Every American who has attended school in any of the 50 states has been sold a sack of lies. All of it!!!!

If you know me a little , then you probably know I love an adventure. And there is no greater adventure than a trip- a road trip that is.

When it was decided that we would spend our Christmas holiday with my sister and her family I thought I must make this moment memorable. I’d been craving a real road trip...desperately needing to hit the road. Not only was my travel bones needing to feel the beating of a road trip, but I missed the torture of a way too long bus ride. So I my mind thought of the perfect Christmas gift to me. A Christmas bus ride on the Hound!

Could I really handle a days worth of traveling on a bus? After a quick assessment of my mental capacity, I received the results that this was the perfect cure to my need to travel.

To my sister’s delight, I informed her that I would be traveling to Jacksonville from Houston via the United States Greyhound bus system.

“I can’t wait to hear the stories when you get here!”

Yep, my sister was feeling my need for adventure and the tall tall tales that come with such travel.

All freshly showered for my 21 hours of travel to Jacksonville, I was deposited at the Houston bus terminal in midtown - yea I know people say the downtown bus station but I’m being technical here.

It was quickly apparent as I stood in line waiting to board on the new Hounds - fully loaded with wifi and electrical power outlets - this was going to be a bus ride to remember.

All settled in, pulled out my laptop, signed on to the wifi and plugged myself into the power - yea I was cruising on top of the world.

Somewhere between Houston and Layette, LA the devil jumped on board our bus. For some reason he picked my bus to get on that night.

To afraid to show his face he sat in the bathroom and kept blowing his breath through the vents in the back half of the bus - where I was sitting.

It was the most deadly odor I have ever smelled in my life!!! Honestly whoever or whatever had fallen through that toilet and come through the vents was DEAD!

After unloading and reloading in Mobile, in the wee hours of the morning, I found a seat towards the front. Finally, I could get some sleep.

I managed to get a couple of hours of shut eye. But that was quickly interrupted when we hit Fort Walton Beach...

Wait! Who let professor “Kemosabee” on the bus?!

A loud, non-stop talking, poll dancing missionary from Spain was granted permission to sit next to Dr. Kemosabee and share the stage as he

lectured on the “Miseducation of American History”.

Talk about a profound lecture! I’ve never heard anything like it. And as exhausted as I was, I was so intrigued to learn that I really had been hoodwinked and bamboozled by the lies my teachers soled me!

Awaken from my ignorance of the lack of knowledge as to what was the true history of my country, I clung to every word.

Oh, thank you Dr. Kemosabee for shinning light on the knowledge that North African Moors were actually living

in America before the Native Americans arrived. The history books lied and said that Alabama (your home state) was the 22nd in the union, when it was really the 1st state in the union. In fact, you taught me that Alabama actually owned all the other states. And without the knowledge of most Americans, 21

states have left the union. How could I have been so ignorant?

And how dare the government hide the fact that Bush, the senior, got all of his money from Bin Laden’s father. And that George Jr and Bin Laden were play mates as kids!

I have been miseducated and ill informed!!! I demand a refund on all my education!

Yep, I was cracking up the whole time in my seat, taking note of my miseducation. I was told never to share this with anyone, hahaha!

But here’s what I walked away with, the dreadlocked priest (something else he claimed to be) and the poll dancing missionary where not ashamed to talk boldly about what they believed was the truth, though there was no support for their claims.

We have God’s Word, that has been proven and tried. How willing are we to share it with those who want to hear it?

Statement of Faith

We believe in one eternal God; infinite in power, holy in nature, attributes and purpose, as well as omniscient and omnipresent.

We believe this one true God, who revealed Himself as Father in Creation, as Son in redemption, and as Holy Ghost in regeneration.

We believe that - in Him (Jesus) dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. For it pleased the Father that in Him should all fullness dwell.

We believe in the death, burial and resurrection.

We believe in being born again of water-by immersion in the name of the Lord “Jesus” Christ for the remission of sins, and in Spirit baptism of the Holy Ghost - speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance.

We believe in divine healing, communion and foot washing.

We believe in presenting our bodies a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto God.

We believe in expressions of praise with lifted hands, hand clapping, playing of musical instruments, voice of praise and dancing.

The purpose of New Life Temple Church is to instill the faith of Jesus Christ into the lives of all people, bringing them into spiritual perfection with a spirit of excellence.
