The first day of the Book Fair was really fun. There were lots of books to choose from at the Book Fair. There were easy reads, cartoons, dramas, comics, adventures and even animals. The Book Fair was the best place to shop for books because they were cheap and school appropriate. The fair also sold toys; like pens, erasers and markers. There were even posters! The Book Fair is a really cool and fun time of the year. Hope you had fun at the Book Fair, too!
The movie Goosebumps was awesome. It was released on Halloween, Saturday, Octo-ber 31, 2015. Goosebumps was based off the book series. It was mostly themed on the Goosebumps monsters that are cruel. The second half of the movie was hilarious. It was not at all scary. Plus, it was really cool with the effects!
The monsters may be scary, but they don’t harm anyone in the movie. There is a boy, his friends, a girl and her father, that are the main characters in the movie. I give this movie 5 stars and I recommend you go see it!

The Pumpkin Walk is an annual tra-
dition here at Brisas, it is always held the
day before Halloween. The morning of the
Pumpkin Walk, all students carved their
pumpkins during class. Before school let
out – all 800 plus pumpkins were walked
out and placed on each class’s assigned
tables to showcase them that night. If you
were able to attend the Pumpkin Walk you
saw tons of friends in Halloween costumes
like zombies, ghosts, police, clowns, etc.

Do you like writing? Are you interested in current events? Do
you like to tell your friends about what is happening at school?
Then you need to be a reporter for the Gecko Gazette!
Every day there are stories to write about, books and movies
to share with your friends. There are people to interview and
events happening that need to be reported. If this sounds like
something you would like to do, then you should attend our
next meeting!!
We will be meeting on, Thursday, January 7 at 7:15
in Miss Burt’s room #22.
It was so fun seeing everyone in their cos-
tumes. One of the best parts is always
when the Mallet Masters play! It was so
great being able to see all the creative
pumpkins lit up at night and get to ven-
ture into the Book Fair too! Hopefully,
everybody had a safe and enjoyable Hal-
loween night!
We just had stuffed animal day! It was very fun. Most of our school brought stuffed ani-
mals! I brought an alien from Toy Story. There were lions, and tigers, and bears, oh my! We
got to hold them all day long. Little kids did activities like measuring, weighing, and finding
things out about their stuffed animals. We earned stuffed animal day because we earned
30 peace days! Let’s keep it up! Let’s earn 45 peace days next so we can vote for our spe-
cial day! So behave well and let’s have a peaceful day every day at Brisas!

Brisas Geckos trotted their way to
the Thanksgiving Turkey trot
starting line. Each grade level had
their own race. Before we started
trotting, all students warmed up
with the Chicken Dance. All grades
participated as they trotted their
tails to the finish line to the finish
line.
Once you reached the finish line
you could receive a special certifi-
cate if you were the first boy or girl
from your class. Even if you
walked, skipped or ran, everyone
was a WINNER! I had fun, and I
hope you all did too!

During my Fall Break I celebrated my sister’s birthday, we went to the Phoenix
Herpetological Society and to Mt. Lemmon.
My older sister, Serene, turned 11 years old during Fall Break.
We got Serene’s favorite cake, Mint Chocolate and we also
got glow in the dark balloons to decorate with. Later, we
went to a Mexican restaurant for dinner. I really liked their
quesadillas. Then we watched the movie Dragon Heart 3. It
was about a boy who had to help a dragon and it was really cool. Serene loved
her party.
My favorite part about my Fall Break was going to the Phoenix Herpetological
Society, I got to feed a crocodile named Mr. Stubbs. I also got to pet an alligator
and the second biggest lizard in the world. I got to feed tortoises and my little
sister got bit by an otter! After that we got food and my dad got me 5 real alliga-
tor teeth and Serene got a shirt.
We also drove to Tucson to visit Mt. Lemmon. It was cold and
windy. When we took pictures my hair was flying wildly.
Sometimes we would stop and hike up steep mountains. It
was very beautiful. We went and ate pizza and also ordered 2
giant chocolate chip cookies. After that we went to the gift
shop and I got a stuffed animal. It was really fun!
My Fall Break was very exciting. Having birthday parties is always fun. Going to
the Phoenix Herpetology Center was a great adventure. Visiting Mt. Lemmon
and hiking was cool. I hope that my next break from school is just as fun.
