announcer pointed out, 'it doesn't look that hard untilyou try do that on a horse of your own'. Many a local participated in the Father's Day rodeoin various events, proving the Consort cowboys to be avery talented bunch. From the local area we had com-petitors in almost every event and a few in the top spots. All results including the high point saddle donated byRichard Bonnycastle, will be published when the officialresults are released from the LRA office. Most spectators were happy to come and enjoy theweekend at the local event and claim that it was good tosee so many families in attendance. " That's the futureof rodeo right there, as long as there are families stillcoming to these sorts of things, rodeo's like this will lastfor hundreds of years," enthused a spectator. This rodeo was also the premier of the MoonlightMovie Madness put on by the Neutral Hills 4-H RodeoWranglers. The weather put a damper on this popcornpic as there were only a dozen kids or families braveenough to tough out the storm. The Neutral Hills 4-Hclub was seen running around all weekend as they rana bottle depot, rode in the grand entry, replaced bal-loons in the mounted shooting competition and wereoverall very good volunteers! They also put all their profittowards the Make a Wish Foundation in hopes of mak-ing some children's lives happier. On Sunday afternoon, as the mud settled on this years48th annual Gooseberry Lake Rodeo, the grounds werebusy with campers packing up from their weekend stay. The sight of hundreds of campers passing through thegates signified the end of another year at the local ro-deo, but also excitement for the upcoming summer sea-son as the sun decided to make an appearance throughthe clouds just as the string of campers emptied fromthe rodeo grounds .
Coleman Kelts of Consort sees the mud below and hangs on tighter, scoringa 62 in Novice Horse Riding.
