INTRODUCTION Google was founded in January 1996 by Larry

Page and Sergey Brin, when they were both attending Stanford University as PhD candidates.

It was incorporated as a private company in 1998 and has it initial public offering in August 2004.

Google processes over a billion search requests daily. By the end of 1998, Google's index had about 60 million pages. In 2001 Google's profit was 105.6 million.

In 2004, Google was handling 84.7% of all web searches. It lost a little when Yahoo started their own search engine. Today if you want to search something online you say "I will google it".

HISTORY Google is an American multinational

corporation specializing in Internet-related services and products.

They incorporated Google as a privately held company on September 4, 1998. An initial public offering followed on August 19, 2004.

These include online advertising technologies, search, cloud computing, and software.

Larry Page and Sergey Birn built on search engine in 1996 and Google Inc. was born in 1998.

2000, they introduced Ad Words, a self-service program for creating online ad campaigns;

In 2004, Google launched Gmail (speedy search, huge amounts of storage and threaded messages);

Launched Google Maps and Google Earth in 2005

In 2006, acquired online video sharing site YouTube.

Announced Android—an open platform for mobile devices and the Open Handset Alliance, in 2007;

In June 2011, introduced the Google+ project;

In January 2012 Google.com/elections is a new one-stop shop for all U.S. elections news, trends and online tools;

Receive ISO 14001 and OHSASO (Occupational Health and Safety Management System) 18001 certification .
