CLOUD COMPUTING• Saving information to a server on the internet so you can access it anywhere with an internet connection• Google Drive operates best with Google Chrome browser• You do need a Google account (Gmail OR activate with your current email address)
NAVIGATION BARRed Buttons: Create and UploadMy Drive: A place to organize your files for easy access. Allows you to create folders and move the documents around to quickly locate the files you need.Shared With Me: Files you did not create but have permission to view and/or edit.Starred: Clicking the star next to an item in your Drive marks the files as important and adds a shortcut to the document in this area.Recent: The files you have accessed most recently.More: Activity; Offline; All Items
CREATING• Documents save automatically• Similar to Microsoft Office programsDocument: Word Processing programPresentation: PowerPoint programSpreadsheet: Spreadsheet program similar to ExcelForm: Creates web-based survey forms and tracks the responses for you in a separate spreadsheetDrawing: Comparable to Paint
COMMENTS• Show up on the right hand side of the screen• Can be added by any of the editors

UPLOADING1. Click the Upload Button
2. Select and open the file
3. Upload the file. When it is done, you will see this field pop up at the bottom of the screen.
4. Once it has finished loading, open the document and select File>Open As>Compatible Drive Program

SHARING1. Sharing With Collaborators: Two ways to share: 1. Blue button in the top right 2. File>Share…
Type in the email addresses of the people you wish to invite.Various privileges you can assign: view only, edit, or comment
2. Sharing On Websites Two types of sharing: 1. Published Form a. File>Publish to the Web>Copy address b. Paste as a hyperlink into the website/blog 2. Editable Form a. Share>Copy link b. Change Who Has Access to Anyone With A Link c. Paste as a hyperlink into the website/blog
DOWNLOADING• File>Download as and choosing your preferred file type
ORGANIZING• Under My Drive, you have the ability to organize your
files into a folder for quick navigation• Similar to My Documents on a PC
