Dec 17 1 How to Install Google Backup and Sync Google Backup and Sync is the latest Drive sync client. The earlier version, Google Drive for Mac/PC, will no longer be supported as of December 11, 2017. If you already have Google Drive for Mac/PC installed, you can go ahead and uninstall it after you’ve installed Google Backup and Sync. How It Works This is a 2-way sync, so changes you make online are reflected on all your devices, and vice-versa. When you install Backup and Sync, it creates a folder on your computer named Google Drive. Anything you put in this folder syncs with a folder named My Drive in Drive on the web, and becomes available on all your Drive devices. With Backup and Sync, you can also: • Sync other folders on your computer, such as Documents or Desktop • Sync USB devices and SD cards • Back up your photos and videos to Google Photos Caution: Keep in mind that you will need to have enough disk space on your computer to accommodate all of your Google Drive files. It is recommended to clean up your folders first by removing anything that you no longer need to save before installing Backup and Sync. Download and Install the App 1. Open Google Chrome. 2. To download the installation file... Click the gear icon in drive.google.com and select Download Backup and Sync for Mac. Go directly to www.google.com/drive/download and click Download. OR
