programmes and courses designed to respond to the needs of society, and a wide variety of
social and cultural activities in order to serve and engage the citizens of the region.

U3M: Knowledge Transfer and
innovation
Main obstacles to the exploitation of knowledge are:
• the lack of a “one-stop-shop”: OTRI-Research and Knowledge Transfer Office of the ULE and FGULEM offer similar services; staff working at OTRI is insufficient
• the lack of support and infrastructure to generate spin-offs
Strengths for Technology Transfer and Innovation:
• Several programmes have created an entrepreneurial culture (T-CUE and the Plan Legio)
• Clusters in the region: alignment of some industries: bio-pharmacy, automotive industry and food industry.
U3M: Continuing Education
• Directed by an academic• Managed by externals (foundations, professional
associations an other ) or by ULE
