FANTASTIC NEWS !
Thursday night, Tim Lowke, Kip Harmon, Pastor Cynthia and myself hosted our District Superintendent Rev. Rankin Koch and the District Committee on Church Location and Build-ing for a meeting at Holy Ground. We presented to the committee the detailed plans and specifications, detailed estimates of cost & financing to construct the Discipleship Center. We received a unanimous approval!!!!!!
There is now one more important step to take that includes the entire membership of Good News UMC.
Next Thursday May 17th at 7:00 pm at the Worship Center in the Rail Yard, we will have our Church Conference so that you can see the work and changes the Building for Mis-sion Team has made to stay within budget but not sacrifice the integrity of our plans. We will be seeking the approval of the Church Conference for the detailed plans and specifi-cations, detailed estimates of cost and financing plan for the construction of the Discipleship Center.
A "Church Conference", is a meeting of the entire church, presided over by our District Superintendent (Rev. Rankin Koch) in which each member has both voice and vote concerning the items of discussion.
I hope to have the Worship Center filled with the membership of Good News UMC next Thursday as we meet to make these important decisions. Child care will be provided.
I would ask that you share this information with the rest of the membership as you see them throughout the week. This meeting is the last step before we finalize our loan documents and begin construction!!! Construction could being in mid-June!
I hope to see you there!!!
Grace and Peace to you all, Pastor Steve
