GATHERINGS FOR COMMUNION STARTING THIS SUNDAY
1. Each Sunday, starting this Sunday September 27 at 9:30
a.m. 2. These gatherings are not complete worship services, only
gatherings for Communion that will take less than 30 minutes.
3. Reservations are required. Please contact Ann at the
Church Office at 432 0308 or [email protected] to sign-up. 4. Capacity for each week: 45.
5. If we reach capacity, you’ll be asked if you’d like to sign up for a later date.
MINISTRY MOMENT AT GRACE:
When we think about Grace’s food pantry ministry, we think about providing food to our neighbors who are in need. And while this is true, what may be even more important is what
happens during those short times we are with our neighbors.
A grandmother in her late 70’s is caring for her two teenage grandchildren because the
mother of the teenagers has significant health problems and requires frequent hospitalizations. With limited income, the grandmother repeatedly comments that the food
she receives from our pantry is helping her family.
However, there is more to this story: this grandmother in her weekly visits shares with
members of our congregation what’s happening within her family – the health status of her daughter and other related news. Members of Grace are providing this grandmother not just
with food but with a community in which she is able to share her concerns and receive assurance that she is surrounded by people who care.
Care and love toward neighbor is fundamental to our identity as Christian people. The members of Grace who volunteer for this ministry report that they too are changed by the
people they meet. In hearing their neighbors’ stories they want to reach out more and more. They are repeatedly made aware of the blessings in their own lives and they with joy and thanksgiving continue to serve God and to serve others.

Before the Gatherings…
1. Please begin arriving at 9:15 a.m. using the Monroe Street Parking Lot Entrance.
2. Please observe social distancing markings inside the building.
3. Hand sanitizer use is required for everyone upon entering and exiting.
4. Masks are required.
5. Please come to the gatherings only if you’re feeling well (no fever or cough).
6. Please keep any outerwear with you.
In the Sanctuary…
1. Only the back entrance will be used for an entrance to the nave.
2. An Offering Box will be located near the entrance of the nave.
3. Ushers will explain the designated, social distance seating in the nave: households
may sit together; please keep 6 feet between non-household members.
4. Neither singing nor greeting/hand-shaking will be part of these gatherings
Communion
1. After the Words of Institution and the Lord’s Prayer, Ushers will welcome
household groups forward one group a time for communion starting with the front
pews, alternating sides.
2. Hand sanitizer will be available.
3. Bread, wine, and grape juice will be in plastic cups on a communion table.
4. The Communion Assistant will say the words for distribution 6 feet behind the
communion table.
5. Please commune outside the ramp exit.
6. There will be no Communion pew delivery during these gatherings.
If you have any questions about these gatherings please contact one of the pastors at any
time.

Faith and
Family Time!
Faith and Family Time! resources for the month of October will
be available in the Lobby again starting Monday afternoon, September 28.
● They will also be available Wednesday evening, September 30
starting at 4:30 p.m. in case weekday business hours are not convenient for you to stop by church.
● Offering Envelopes will still be available in the Lobby for pick-up.
● One Bible Left Behind and Bibles for our new Three Year Olds are also in the Lobby!
● Thursday, October 1, recordings of the Bible Story for October 4 and a message from Pastor Julie will be e-mailed to families in the
weekly Sunday School e-mail.
If you don’t receive the e-mail or if you have trouble using the recordings or if you have helpful suggestions for how to improve
Faith and Family Time! please let Pastor Larry know any time.

Coffee at the time of COVID –
In an effort to continue to support small farmers in various parts of the
world so that they may receive a living wage for their work, we would like to continue selling fairly traded coffee, tea and chocolate to members and friends of Grace.
Simply call or email the church office 432-0308 (Monday through Fri-day, 8 am -4:30 pm) and your order will be taken. It will be ready for
pick-up the following day (8 am -4:30 pm). Come to the lobby door, ring the bell to gain entrance and you will find your packaged order on the table. Just leave your payment - check or cash (exact amount, please) in the box on the table and you are
on your way! Please note there is no “curbside” pick-up on evenings or weekends unless special arrangements have been made.

CONFIRMATION SMALL GROUP GUIDES:
We are in need of one adult female member of Grace to serve as confirmation small group
guide this year. The small group guide will be assigned to work with a maximum of five confirmation students (always the same students) in a designated room observing social distancing and
the wearing of face masks. There will be NO large group interaction. Guide responsibilities include assisting students in their small group during confirmation classes, encouraging youth to complete assignments and serving as Christian role
models. Time commitment: 6:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesdays, October through April. There is no outside preparation required. Please contact Pastor Julie ([email protected] or

Volunteer AV Tech
We could still use 1
or 2 more volunteers to learn the new AV system
for live-streaming worship and for adding enhanced
video capabilities to worship.
Starting now: ● Training is available beginning with set
-up procedures at 7:15 a.m. any Sunday.
● The time commitment: 7:15 – 9:30 a.m. on a substitute basis or on a schedule agreed to among volunteers.
● Job Description: set-up for video input and streaming, operating camera
(s), switching between video feeds, linking You Tube to Facebook and website, etc.
