Junior High Cross Country Championship!
The FFA has three chapter members who will be
moving on to the Sub-District competition for
Job Interview on November 8th at Tri Rivers
Career Center. Job interview is the most
applicable career development event that the
National FFA has to offer. Students learn to fill
out a job application, are involved in an actual
job interview, complete a follow-up letter after
the interview is complete and are scored on
their application, cover letter, resume, interview
and follow-up letter along the way.
The following will be representing RV FFA:
Sophomore: Jackson Crawford
Junior: Anna Heimlich
Senior: Jillian Russell
We wish them luck at the next level of
competition!

Great news from RVHS Robotics… Members of the RVHS VEX Robotics team traveled to North Union on October 28th to compete with 40 other teams at their regional qualifier tournament. The RV teams faced very tough competition at the event. RV Team 1181C battled through the tournament to claim their second tournament championship in as many weeks. Team members RJ Clayton, Tyler Peak, and Brenden Andrews went 5-1 in qualifying events and were the number three seed. Team 1181B of Ezra Warwick, David Calhoun, and Nick Manning were also 5-1 in qualifiers and claimed the number one seed but dropped a tough three game match in the semi-finals. Team 1181D of Ty Garrett, Josh Yake, and RJ Reid struggled with electrical problems, but made the finals as the 7th seed and lost in the quarterfinals. Team 1181B of Warwick, Calhoun, and Manning set the highest score of the entire tournament scoring 96 points in a match. The next tournament is November 30th at OSUM.
The 7th grade language arts classes of Traci Lott and Michelle Owings have completed their annual RVMS Wax Museum. Students chose a biography/autobiography of a person of choice, did a good amount of research based on an essential question, chose a presentation format, created that presentation and a costume, and presented at an evening to parents and families. The teachers are also choosing a few exceptional projects to be presented at the next Board of Education Meeting on Thursday, November 9.
During some of those nice days of warmer weather, third
graders at Liberty Elementary took advantage of it by
reading outside.
Check out the pictures below from the 1st grade
students at Heritage Elementary that created a stem
project to determine the best way to make "Solar
S'mores." Students have been learning about the sun
and energy it provides to Earth. Students worked
together to decide what type of plate and covering
to use for the s'more and then together decided
where to place them outside. Shortly later they
enjoyed their very messy Solar S'mores!
