The answer may seem obvious – that God demonstrated his
love for us; that we when were still sinners, Christ died for us
(Romans 5:8). What might not be as obvious is how this love
has power today to transform every aspect of our lives.
This season, you’re invited to join us for a special three-week
series starting Easter Sunday. Bring your friends, and we’ll
discover together that the resurrection still changes
everything.
Easter, April 21: Breakfast- 8:30AM & Worship– 10:00AM (There wil l be no Sunday School c lasses on Easter .)
Spend a quiet evening reflecting on the reason for the cross and why this event
in Jesus’ life impacts us so much.

Theme: The Resurrection
This April, we look forward to all that Christ did for
us on the cross and His resurrection. Use this family
devotion using jelly beans to understand all this
means to us.
What you will need: What you will need: What you will need: What you will need: Jellybeans
Say: Say: Say: Say: Let’s use jellybeans to see how we can
remember what Jesus has done for us.
1. Red— is for the blood He gave
2. Green— is for the grass He made
3. Yellow— is for the sun so bright
4. Orange— is for the edge of night
5. Black— is for the sin we’ve made
6. White— is for the grace He gave
7. Purple— is for the hour of sorrow
8. Pink— is for a new tomorrow
A handful of jellybeans are so colorful and bright, a
prayer, a promise of a brand new life.
In closing, read John 20:1-18 as you celebrate His
resurrection.

FAMILY FAITH CELEBRATIONS
Senior Summit &
Graduate Recognition Sunday
Family Faith Celebrations are events where we join
the family in celebrating specific milestones in a
young person’s life.
Senior Summit and Graduate Recognition Sunday are
two ways that our church celebrates a significant
milestone in the life of high school graduates. Senior
Summit includes a dinner, message, and a time of
blessing from parents to their children. Graduate
Recognition Sunday is time where the entire church
celebrates this major achievement.
If you know of a GCCC high school or college
graduate, please remit their graduation information to
the office so that we may honor their achievement as a
congregation

Evangelism occurs when we know Jesus and proclaim Him! Last month I discussed the importance of personally knowing Christ before we can proclaim Him. This month I want to continue with the trait of evangelism by encouraging our church to boldly proclaim Jesus everywhere we go! In response to Peter’s confession, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God,” Jesus says to him, “I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it” (Matt 16:18). Remember, Jesus makes this statement after Peter’s confession of faith. In other words, Jesus is building His church upon Peter and Peter’s confession of faith. Jesus is essentially saying, “You are being sent out by me with my authority to proclaim the gospel, and upon you and your proclamation of this
good news, I will build my church.” The rock of the church, then, is the people of God proclaiming the gospel of Christ. Peter is the first apostle to make this declaration, and this declaration is the foundation upon which the church is built. The truthfulness of Jesus’ statement is put on display in the book of Acts. The church proclaimed the good news and grew rapidly in the first century. Hell’s doors were quaking! However, the gospel does not slow down. It keeps going and the church keeps growing. Jesus builds His church wherever the people of God are proclaiming the gospel of Christ. He uses Peter and Paul, and all who follow Him, to build His church. That is the story of the book of Acts, the story of the church throughout history, and the story of the church today. We see the church grow in remarkable ways: When four high school students head to the mall to share their faith., they lead a student to Christ and bring him to church the following Sunday; when young adults go to “hot spots” in town to provide free rides to people in order to share the gospel with them; when a church member delivers a care package to a Muslim woman from Bangladesh, and the woman trusts in Christ and now owns, studies, and treasures her Bengali Bible. Whenever and wherever the people of God are proclaiming the truth of Christ, Jesus is building His church, and nothing can stand against it!
See you Sunday! — Brian
