THE PROBLEM OF BULLYING

• Nearly 30 percent of students are either bullies or victims of bullying.

• 160,000 students stay home from school every day in the U.S. because of fear of bullying.

• Victims of bullying are between 2 and 9 times more likely to consider suicide than non-victims.

• Suicide is the second leading cause of death in Utah for young people, ages 10-17 and 18-24.• A 40-year study conducted at Carnegie Mellon University shows that childhood bullying has negative effects on victims throughout their lives.• Depression• Anxiety• Suicidal thoughts• Poor physical health• Lower salary, less employment

TESTIMONIALS

Thank you for the wonderful space to host our very productive retreat. Beautiful home, and gardens for our conversations and team building. Farmed animals thank you! -Farm Forward TeamEvery time I bring judges or court personnel here, we have the most productive, creative, problem-solving meetings of the entire year. There is something about this “space” that is so special and it brings the best out of some of the best people in Utah.

-Utah Court System

The environment here is so rich and wonderful. It has enhanced everything we have done. I can’t imagine similar discussions and action in institutional settings like the library.

-Engage Study Group: Exploring Nonviolent Living

Thank you for providing such a wonderful space for us to gather, think deeply, reconnect with our mission and purpose, revitalize our passion for clean energy, and discover new ways of thinking, doing, and being. We are truly grateful for this house and your hospitality!
