Tacoma DomeJeff Dunham: Perfectly Unbalanced
Dunham’s fascination with ventriloquism began at
age eight, when his parents who gave him a Mortimer Snerd dummy and an accom-panying instructional record album.
By the time he was 10, Jeff was performing anywhere he could find an audience. After graduating from Baylor University, he moved to Los Angeles and soon became a sensation on the national comedy club circuit. Multiple performances on just about every stand-up comedy show followed, as did frequent appear-ances on The Tonight Show and Late Night with David Letterman.

Oluo leads a team of talented musi-cians in a grand-scale, experimental pop opera about keeping it together.
Drawing from darkly funny per-sonal stories about illness, despair,
and regeneration, Now I’m Fine ranges from epic to intimate. It features a 17-piece orchestra and a spectacular cast of perform-ers, including Okanomodé Soulchilde, Samantha Boshnack, Josh Rawlings, Evan Flory-Barnes, D’Vonne Lewis, and many more.
Oluo was the first Artist-in-Residence at Town Hall. A long-time writing partner of Hari Kondabolu, he has performed nation-ally with bands, including Das Racist and Hey Marseilles, and is a fixture in the local and national comedy scenes. His garage-jazz quartet, Industrial Revelation, won the 2014 Stranger Genius Award.

Driftwood Players25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee
A riotous ride, com-plete with audience
participation, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee is delightful musical comedic genius.
An eclectic group of six midpubescents vie for the spelling championship of a lifetime. While candidly disclosing hilarious and touching stories from their home life, the tweens spell their way through a series of (potentially made-up) words, hoping never to never hear the soul-crushing, pout-inducing, life-unaffirming “ding” of the bell that signals a spelling mistake.
An unusual aspect of the show is that audience members are invited on stage to compete in the spelling bee alongside the char-acters. Another amusing aspect is that when asked to use words in a sentence, the official pronouncer gives ridiculous examples.
