Behind every great marketing campaign, are the talented people who deliver exceptional work – be it from an agency, brand or media owner.

Advertising + Marketing magazine is proud to present the inaugural Marketing Talent Awards 2020 in Malaysia. The awards are designed to recognise individuals and teams who have shown excellence across the advertising and marketing industry, as well as the companies making outstanding efforts to develop an inspiring working environment for their staff.

Open to all agencies, media owners and brands with in-house marketing and PR teams based in Malaysia, the 2020 awards offers 37 categories created to reflect the breadth the industry. The awards will once again be judged solely by an independent panel of senior industry experts.

The finalists will be announced in August across various advertising + marketing platforms including website, email and social media.

Winners will be announced at a prestigious gala dinner in Malaysia in 25 September 2020. Finalists in the Company and Team categories will be vying for Gold, Silver and Bronze trophies. Finalists in the individual-based categories (Rising Star, People and Legend) will be competing for one Gold and two runner up distinctions. Runner ups will be acknowledge with a certificate of distinction and announcement on the awards night.

There is no limit to the number of categories you can enter or the number of people or initiatives you submit.

The entry deadline is Friday 3 July 2020.

The eligibility of work is from July 2019 to June 2020.

Categories are open to marketing teams in client organisations, media owners and advertising, marketing and PR agencies across Malaysia.

Entrants can nominate themselves or a colleague; they can use one particular campaign as a case study of evidence to form their entry or can use aspects from various projects, but all work must have taken place within the eligibility period and they must show evidence against each of the specific category criteria (outlined on the following pages).

All work, programmes, campaigns, systems or initiatives showcased by individuals, teams, agencies and / or organisations should have demonstrable results within the eligibility period. Initiatives or strategies developed and implemented prior to this period are also eligible provided the impact / results were measured during the

eligibility period.

Entrants must have an office in Malaysia and be Malaysia-based. All work, campaigns or initiatives demonstrated must have been conceptualised in, and delivered from Malaysia.

Entrants may submit entries across multiple categories but should outline how each fit the specific category. There is no limit to the number of entries an entrant may submit.

Any or all information, unless specified as confidential for use only by the awards jury, may be used during and after the Marketing Talent Awards gala dinner, and on any and all related materials including trophies, certificates and advertising + marketing magazine’s print and online editions.

Please ensure you enter all details exactly as they should be depicted on any event collateral leading up to, during and after the awards night.

The Core Submission Document should contain a maximum of 2,000 words (total) with evidence to support and address each of the specific category criteria points outlined in the categories and criteria section of this document.

Please ensure all areas listed are covered within your submission as the judging panel will be looking for these specific details.

Each bullet point will hold a maximum value of 10 points. When

reviewing individual entries, the judges will decide how many points to award against every criterion out of 10, so please ensure each area is fully covered in order to achieve your highest possible score.

If you are submitting more than one entry, you must tailor your submission to its respective category guidelines to help the judging panel fully understand your work in the correct context and award a maximum number of potential points.

Any specific information or content intended for judging purposes only must be clearly indicated in red text or highlighted in red and will not be used for publication and will not be disseminated beyond the judging panel in any way. Entries do not have to be for new initiatives but the outcomes must be specific to the eligibility period. Brands entering must have initiatives and results specific to their in-house marketing teams.

Entrants must show evidence of:

• Measures taken to support employee health, mental health and wellbeing

• Measures taken to support employee learning, development and career growth

• Measures taken to support and maintain gender and cultural diversity

• A demonstrable effort to understand staff concerns and improve staff satisfaction

The judges’ decisions are final.

Without prior notice, the Marketing Talent Awards team reserves the right to add, merge or dissolve any categories should it be deemed necessary. Should any categories be merged, entries affected in the original categories will not be refunded. However, should any category be cancelled, a full refund will be made to the company that has paid for the submission.

Any specific information or content intended for judging purposes only must be clearly indicated in red text or highlighted in red and will not be used for publication and will not be disseminated beyond the judging panel in any way.

The entrant otherwise grants advertising + marketing magazine, Lighthouse Independent Media Pte. Ltd. and its partners permission to show material(s) from the entries at the awards presentation in advertising + marketing magazine and at any time as deemed appropriate by the organiser.

Should your entry be shortlisted, the entry details you provide in your Entry Details and Core Submission Document will be used on all awards materials including the website, awards presentation slides and trophy / trophies (presented on the awards night, should you win). The reflected text will be displayed in Title Case unless brand guidelines specify otherwise.

Please note that after the submission deadline, all information on the Entry Details and Core Submission Document, including company names, credits and so on, are FINAL and cannot be changed and / or transferred to another party. Entrants who make any changes after the submission period will be charged an additional 10% of the entry fee per change.

Whilst care will be taken by the organiser, the entrant agrees that advertising + marketing magazine or Lighthouse Independent Media Pte. Ltd. and its partners will be exempt from any liability for errors or omissions reproduced, lost and / or corrupted in the presentation of the Marketing Talent Awards or in advertising + marketing magazine. For the purpose of clarity, this exemption of liability includes any communications online and offline by advertising + marketing magazine, Lighthouse Independent Media Pte. Ltd. and its partners.

Finalists are required to be present at the awards gala dinner to find out the results of the competition and to receive their trophy / trophies (should they win).

Should the finalist not be able to attend the awards gala dinner, an appointment representative must be present on their behalf.
