INTRODUCTION

Underrated bands - they can have us wondering why they are not bigger

than they are or why they are not as successful as they should be in the

mainstream music industry. I am going to write about the Top 100

Underrated Bands and include two songs for each band that you should have

a listen to. I say two songs as I find that the first song might not always catch

you at first so now onto the media.

This PDF file was created in association with my blog, Going Underground Is

Entertainmentwhich concentrates on new music which I believe are fantastic

tracks to check out. The blog also has a monthly-running playlist whichconsists of 100 tracks that are not necessarily from the respective month, but

most are.

have one simple reason to why this is my first project - because there is

ittle out there on the internet for underrated bands, just overrated bands

which consist of Led Zeppelin and The Beatles which I believe is such a farce

against their name and that it is just because they are fantastically successful

bands that they are considered by some to be overrated. I know this because

m not the greatest Beatles fan in the world, but I appreciate their music and

the influence they had on the industry. I am now going to talk about what I

believe makes an underrated band.

WHAT MAKES AN

UNDERRATED BAND'?

Genuine bands who should be heard by a much a larger audience.

The above quote is my quote on how I would sum up underrated bands.

Genuine bands are bands that are excellent and undeniable who are good at

what they do - in this case music. They are likely be at the same level to well-

known bands, but simply arent heard or havent had the media promotion

to make them heard.

From this project I hope that the bands I suggest that I believe are

underrated gain more recognition than they currently have . You also must

remember before reading this PDF that it is only one person who has written

this project and therefore you may think it is biased. However I have spent a

ot of time on this project to ensure that it is as honest and informative as

possible. To do this, I have also asked peers on bands they think are

underrated to gain an understanding from someone else's point of view.

100: Manic Street

Preachers

Manic Street Preachers are an alternative rock band from Wales that hasbeen around in the music industry since 1986. They are a 3-piece band but

used to be a quartet before member Richey Edwards vanished and presumed

deceased. The band to date have released 10 studio albums and most

recently Postcards From A Young Man in September 2010 with a view to

release an eleventh in 2011 rumoured to be titled 70 Songs Of Hatred And

Failure.

believe this band to be underrated because since the dark-styled essence of

brilliance of the first four albums by the band with Edwards passionate and

honest lyrics to strengthen them, they have had big questions asked to them

o whether they could still be as big as they were in the 1990s and the truth

s that they are, the modern music is just not appreciated as much yet. Check

out a track from the 1995 album after Edwards vanishing (Enola/Alone) and

he single from their recent album (Its Not War) Just The End Of Love.
