There are 4 trails in particular that create a sort of loop around the center of Arlington: the Mount Vernon, Custis, W&OD and Four Mile Run trails. This “Arlington Loop” connects you to almost every amenity in Arlington you can think of. The entire loop is 17 miles long, but you don’t have to ride it all at once – most trips on the Loop are much shorter. It’s like a human powered super highway: The entire Loop is off-street (save for some street crossings). It’s closer than you think: Most Arlington County households are within 2 miles of the Loop.
