    I. Costa Calma - Playa de Sotavento - Playa de Esquinzo - Playa de Butihondo- Playa del Matorral - Morro Jale [appr. 21km]

    II. Costa Calma - !os Boquetes - Costa Calma [appr. 12km]

    ,gain taking a "us nort from #and$a to %osta %alma& tis time 'espirit aligted at souternoutskirts of town& opposite te 4l 'almeral sopping (entre [,]. 3e applied sun(ream to isfa(e and arms& ten set off along te road immediatel! to te rigt of te sops. ,fter a fewminutes te road turned to dust and te ike (ommen(ed. %rossing te flat& firm& sand! 'aredIstmus (ould not ave "een simpler& "ut onl! ten minutes into te ike e eaded left for a(lose-up look at te (luster of uge wind generators. 5eturning to te tra(k after alf an our&e (ontinued in a straigt line for a furter alf an our until e was standing on te (lifftopsoverlooking te west (oast. 'espirit took a few potos and ten s(ram"led down a slope toget (loser to te raging sea. 3e wandered a little wa! sout& ten an even greater distan(e tote nort. Towards te nortern end e (ame a(ross a paradise-perfe(t near-deserted little"ea( wit nort- and sout-fa(ing sores. #ust five minutes furter nort is te end of te

    line& "e!ond Los o6uetes []& an impassa"le wall of "la(k ro(k. eginning is return&'espirit eaved imself up te nearest sand dune a took a final view from te ig point overLos o6uetes. From ere it took fort! minutes to ike a(ross ston! (ountr! to te norternend of %osta %alma& and a furter twent! minutes to rea( te sea at te east (oast.

    III. Jand"a - Pi#o de la $arza - Jand"a [appr. 17km]

"eind te Faro del atorral in #and$a& 'espirit set offalong various roads towards were e imagined te iking trail (ommen(ed [1]. ,fter a fewpresumed false starts and un(ertain leads& e eventuall! rea(ed te end of an aspalt roadimmediatel! to te east of #and$a Golf (ourse. 3e ad "een walking for almost an our "utwas on te wrong tra(k& eading into a valle! wen e sould ave "een on top of its eastern

    ridge. Ten minutes into te valle!& "e!ond a (ouple of small goaterd farms& e passed a8ational 'ark sign. 9en te tra(k dwindled and disappeared e new for sure e*d got itwrong. 3e was fa(ed wit a range of peaks straigt aead& and te prospe(t of aving tos(ram"le undreds of metres up one side. 3e pi(ked out te ro(k fa(e tat looked te leastunfavoura"le and "egan is as(ent. ,fter a gruelling our*s (lim"& e finall! rea(ed te :90road tat e sould ave "een on from te start. Twent! minutes later te road "e(ame afootpat& and after a furter fifteen minutes e rea(ed te fen(e tat prote(ts te rare plantson te summit. 3e (lam"ered troug and five minutes later e was standing on top of teigest peak on Fuerteventura [2]. Te ; views were as stunning as an! 'espirit asever seen from a mountain top. True desolate "eaut!. a(k-tra(king for te return ike& emade sure to sta! on te :90 road te full lengt of te ridge. It took a little under an ourand a alf to get "a(k to te start of te trail [1]. For good measure e ten soaked is wear!feet in te sea at Faro del atorral [0]and finised off wit te our long walk around te

    IV. Morro Jale - Cofete - Morro Jale [appr. 2?km]

    of peaks, a linear wall of nearly 3 km, east!west border of the southern tip of

    "uerte#entura$ %n the middle of this range, there is a passage that connected the ancient

    fishing settlement of &ofete with the town of 'reat (alley$ )ur ascent takes the first part ofthis road, then follow the line, great balcony o#erlooking the east and west, leading to the

    highest point of the island$ The trailhead is marked with a sign at the entrance 'reat (alley

    and is located about 3 km track starting$ %t is called the way of the *risoners, which runs

    from +orro Jable to &ofete$ The trail, made with stones on both sides, it runs through the

    center of 'rand (alley$ The lines of mountains that flank it on either side are the deer knife to

    our left and art -olana two chordal height taking as we mo#e$ is appearance changes from

    ocher and yellow that dominates the island to different shades of green$ ere most of theendemic species of the island are concentrated$ The reason is the a.uifer wealth, both by

    path continues to the #illage on a slope of about 5 minutes$ 4e not lose, we ha#e to start

    following the crest to the east$ %n two hours we spend near the summit of the peak of a

    *alma 658 m9, not without se#eral ascents and descents to a#oid skirting$ %n this section the

    road is poorly marked and referrals are the hills such as cutthroat erb 'arden$ 4e will pass

    through se#eral areas of large cactus 6:uphorbia canariensis9 that clustered, block the

    way$ /fter skirting the +orro reach &a#adero the highest peak in "uerte#entura, surrounded

    by cacti, the ancient #egetation of the island$ The descent is made by the ;oard of

    (inamar$ The track is the most direct route< the ra#ine is marked and is nicer, but you ha#e to
