This school year the Science PLC will be taking part in a partnership with the Museum of Science & Industry. Our partnership provides a mechanism for whole-school change 2236 N. (Tech Insider 2015). Timothy John Berners- Lee Tim Berners-Lee is a scientist from Britain that helped bring about the WWW. Berners-Lee submitted a proposal back in March 1989 and it was about a system for information management. He was also the first man to ever successfully communicate between an HTTP server and client with the use of the internet around November of that same year. This innovative program is grounded in current research in science education and designed to support our multiple grade levels that do the work of science education reform. The Science Leadership School Partners Program will guide Goethe through a process of assessing our current status in science education, creating an action plan, and implanting that action plan.

•Hop on the "Haunted Hayride" and go behind the scenes for a hauntingly good time

•At 1:00 p.m. the popular Costume Parade commences on the North Mall, goes around Roosevelt Fountain and concludes on the West Mall.

•Build a scarecrow at the Hamill Family Play Zoo

•Watch animals enjoy their very own pumpkins

Student Spotlight

Junior Garcia is in Rachel Tryba’s fourth grade class. He enjoys playing soccer after school and takes part in Goethe’s Urban Initiative program. Junior’s

favorite subject in science is electricity. He stated, “I really enjoyed learning about electricity in the third grade.” Junior will have the opportunity this year to take a part in a special after school activity that involves experimenting with electricity.

University News The goal of the Department of Computer Science is to provide individuals with a broad-based

theoretical and practical understanding of Computer Science. Students who complete the program are prepared for positions which include software engineering, technical programming, and the application of computers and related technologies to problems in industry such as computer security, network design and management, and Web design.
