INSIDE THIS ISSUE
SMONDAY’S
A NOTE FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
June is here and I can hardly believe we are
already mid-year and that means with the
month of June comes the beginning of
summer! The month of May was busy and this
month will prove to be the same. I encourage
you to visit the Center on a daily basis to keep
yourself busy with an abundance of activities,
programming, and events. Stop by and visit
us, we might have something entertaining for
you!
I’d like to send a warm “Happy Father’s Day”
wish to all of our patrons! As is tradition, the
Center will have cake and punch for all of our
“Fathers” on Sunday, June 21st.
Plans are in the making for our annual
Independence Day BBQ scheduled for
Thursday, July 2nd. There will be plenty of
hot dogs and hamburgers with all the “fixins”.
Don’t forget to sign up at the Welcome Desk
for the BBQ and sign up in Travel for the
Concert for Heroes at Riverside National
Cemetery. Mark your calendars! You don’t
want to miss this wonderful celebration.
I am extremely excited about a new program
called TASTE IT - TRY IT! This is a series of
demonstrations with recipes that satisfy your
sweet tooth using healthy alternatives. Not
only are you learning how to make these
special treats but you get to try them! These
recipes are sure to please your palate. Please
read the Pacesetter from front to back – you
are guaranteed to find something of interest.
One final note… I would like to thank all of
you who volunteer for special activities,
events, and our daily operations. The Center
could not provide the vast array of services
and activities without your assistance. Your
contribution of time, energy, and commitment
is truly immeasurable ~ many thanks!
Let’s enjoy the month of June together. I look
forward to visiting with you during some of
the fantastic events and programs we have
planned. Remember to bring a friend and
share the Goeske Center experience.
Warm regards,
Judith
P.S.
We are excited to offer our Goeske patrons a
wonderful opportunity to attend the Sailing
Regatta on Saturday, June 20th. Please see
page 6 in the Pacesetter for more details.
P.S.S.
Please join us as we congratulate Bryce Vails
on his recent wedding nuptials. As many of
you know, Bryce has been with the
Foundation for over 5 years in a part-time
capacity and he also holds a special place in
my heart, as my son. The young couple was
wed on May 29th in Newport Beach. Our best
wishes to Bryce and his new bride, Alyx for
many years of love, happiness, good health
and countless successes.
