Excerpts from Press Release - UKM and MERCY Malaysia MoU
“…There is an incorrect perception that MERCY Malaysia only requires
medical personnel as volunteers. Our operations are wide and extensive,
and we are in constant need of volunteers from various sectors, not just
in medicine. We need people from the finance, communications, marketing
and even logistics sector that can help improve our daily operations. MERCY
Malaysia has always spread the seeds of volunteerism early among university
students and even school children, and we hope that this volunteerism spirit
escalates in tandem with their strive for success in their career.”

Attending to a little patient
Ikatan Pelajar Islam Poland (IPIP) organized a MERCY Malaysia Volunteer Induction Programme
Director of IPIP, Mohd Hadinur Jufri, a 5th year medical student from Medical University of Warsaw, when asked about Volunteer Induction Programme conducted by MERCY Malaysia which was held
on the 19th and 20th April 2014 said “We are honored that MERCY Malaysia agreed to be in Poland to conduct a Volunteer Induction Programme (VIP) to our Ikatan Pelajar Islam Poland members and other Malaysian students residing and studying in Poland and Czech Republic. Thank you to MERCY Malaysia’s representatives and all who have helped in organizing this programme”.
“We have learnt a lot during this programme whereby it has opened our eyes to understand a wider scope of what it is to be a volunteer. It changed our perception towards volunteerism which we thought that volunteerism only happens when disaster strikes for example, flood in Malaysia”.
“I truly hope that this type of programme will be participated by a lot more Malaysian citizens who are well-known with their generosity and kind-heartedness. Apart from this, I hope that each participant who attended this MERCY Malaysia VIP programme continues to be active with the organization personally and in general, the organization’s humanitarian work”, Hadinur Jufri, ended his conversation.
