The world says that Christmas is only about giving, but God’s giving isn’t about going to the store and finding something nice for all the loved ones in your life, who usually have plenty already.

God’s kind of giving is bigger. It’s radical. And it produces a

supernatural quality of life for you.

We find this radical, sacrificial kind of giving all throughout God’s Word — the Bible calls them offerings. Christmas is all about offerings — that’s what I told my kids when they were little, that’s what I tell my grandkids, and that’s what I’m telling you.

When I speak of offerings at Christmas time, you might immediately think of the wise men who came to worship King Jesus and give Him generous gifts, but they weren’t the only ones who offered gifts in that season.

They were responding in gratitude to the offering that had been given to the world.

God gave radically, abundantly and intentionally when He gave His Son to die for this world.

Romans 8:3 tells us that God sent His Son in the likeness of sinful man to be a sin offering. In verse 32 of this same chapter, Paul says that because God gave His Only Son for you and me, we can KNOW that God will also graciously give us ALL THINGS!

Jesus is the ultimate offering God gave to you and to me, but He wasn’t just the Father’s gift alone. Ephesians 5:2 says,

. . . Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and a sacrifice to God (NIV).

Jesus wasn’t given against His will. He wasn’t just completing a duty or obligation.

He realized that there was abundant, supernatural, eternal life found in the act of giving Himself.

This is a supernatural life that is real, genuine, a life full of energy, abundance and blessing!

I want you to have that supernatural quality of life by joining me this Christmas in giving a sacrificial offering to God, one that will be a fragrance rising up to Him.

One of the places I am giving my sacrificial offerings this year is a wonderful outreach called Saving Moses; it was founded by my daughter, Sarah Bowling.

Sarah has a unique and powerful call upon her life. Along with a gift for teaching and writing, she is filled with a deep burden and compassion for babies and little ones under five years old.

She leads this ministry that is radical, intentional and that brings abundance to the lives of babies in developing countries. She brings life to babies in countries that others fear to even enter! Places like Angola, Afghanistan, Cambodia and Bangladesh.

Before you make a decision to join me to help these helpless little ones, I want to share just one story of the hundreds of stories we hear every day. A story that, without intervention

from Saving Moses, would have had a very different ending.

Sarah met Chan Nu when she was only two years old. She found her sitting on a stoop outside of her house. Sarah realized that her “home” was actually a brothel. Women were working behind curtains and no one was watching Chan Nu and her infant brother.

Two years later, Chan Nu was still living in the brothel. The horrors of the sex industry stealing her innocence, and no one was concerned about her safety. At night she was exposed to sex work, drugs and violence.

She was desperately in need of NightCare.

The Saving Moses NightCare program provides a safe place for babies and toddlers of sex workers at night while their mothers work. At NightCare, young children like Chan Nu receive a warm bath, clean clothes, a nutritious meal,time for play, a Bible lesson and a safe place to sleep.

Most importantly, NightCare protects and restores the innocence of babies and toddlers caught up in the sex industry. NightCare was the hope that Chan Nu receivedto rescue her from the corrupt streets of Phnom Penh.

Along with establishing NightCare facilities in Cambodia and Bangladesh, Saving Moses also seeks to help babies and toddlers under five years of age who are dying from malnutrition in developing countries.

Saving Moses devotes itself to finding the babies with the MOST URGENT NEEDS who are located where help is LEAST AVAILABLE.

Giving a sacrificial, radical, intentional offering can bring unspeakable joy and abundance into your life!

Psalm 107:19–22 gives such a powerful picture of how God loves you and wants to meet you in your hour of need:

Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress. He sent out his word and healed them; he rescued them from the grave. Let them give thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind. Let them sacrifi ce thank offerings and tell of his works with songs of joy (NIV, emphasis added).

I love that He sent forth His Word and healed them . . . because that’s such a big part of this ministry. God wants His children to be healed — that’s what Christmas is all about. God gave His best to HEAL the world.

If you need healing, if you need to be rescued, I want you to know today: God sees you, right where you are. He’s already sent forth His Word for you. His Word is healing, provision and supernatural life.

Notice how that verse calls us to respond: let them “sacrifice thank offerings and tell of His works with songs of joy.” God’s love and wonderful deeds are so amazing, and when I see them in action, it makes me want to give . . . big, radical, sacrificial gifts.

Will you join me in this sacrificial offering? Not because you have to in order to receive from God. But because there is joyful, supernatural and miraculous power made available to us when we give radical, abundant, intentional offerings — the kind God gives us.

I’m not asking you because I need your money; this offering isn’t for me. I’m asking you because I want you to experience the supernatural life that comes from this kind of radical, abundant, intentional giving. Giving that will go to a radical and intentional mission that brings abundance into the lives of helpless babies.

Simply pray and ask God what to do — He’ll show you, and when He does, don’t hesitate. Go for it!

I love you so much. Thank you for standing with me during this beautiful season. Because Jesus gave, you and I can experience this supernatural life that comes through giving.
