What You Heard In the Word• God gave the Israelites instructions on

how to build a special place of worship—the tabernacle—and how to make and set up its furnishings.

• The animal sacrifices in the tabernacle pointed to Jesus—the final sacrifice God would send to take away sins.

Ask your child these questions from today’s lesson:

1. What was the place of worship that God told the Israelites to build? The tabernacle.

2. How many pieces of furniture in the tabernacle can you remember? The bronze altar, bronze basin, golden lampstand, table of showbread, altar of incense, ark of the covenant.

3. What piece of furniture had a mercy seat and angels on the top? The ark of the covenant.

Justin & Jessie“This is a great idea, Jessie!” Emily exclaimed as she pulled a stepstool

close to the kitchen counter. “I’m sure my mom is going to love chocolatey cookies for her birthday. Here’s the recipe Mom always uses.”

“Yum. Those look good,” said Jessie, “but I can’t read all these instructions.”

And God spoke all these words, saying,

"I am the Lord your God, who brought

you out of the land of Egypt, out of

the house of slavery. You shall have no

other gods before me."

Exodus 20:1–3

Baking cookies without reading the recipe? How important are the instructions anyway? In “Kitchen Chaos” the girls find out

that following instructions is very important.
