God Delivers His People (exodus)Memory Verse: Exodus 14:14

Bible Passage: Exodus 14:5-31

Missions Emphasis: Uganda

What We Learned: We are learning about the amazing ways that God chooses to

deliver His people. Even when things seem hopeless, nothing is too difficult for God.

In today’s meeting we read the story of the parting of the Red Sea. Even though the Israelites were afraid, God was with them. He provided Moses to lead the people to freedom from the Egyptians.

At-Home: This week, engage in family discussion about ways that God delivers us every day, in big and small ways. Encourage your child to give God proper “credit” to God for all the blessings He bestows, because He works all things for our good. Discuss whether there is a situation from which your child might need to be delivered. If so, pray together and ask God for His help.

Consider the following talking points and activities to reinforce the subject matter, enrich understanding, and encourage open discussion:1. Ask your child to retell the story of the parting of the Red Sea. Ask: How do you think

the Israelites felt? The Egyptians? Which side would you have wanted to be on? God’s side always wins!

2. Start a family prayer journal. Together, make a list of ‘big’ and ‘small’ prayers. Then, record how and when the prayers are answered, and review the content regularly.

3. Have a friendly family jump rope or hula hoop competition to see who has the most “powerful” endurance. Explain that unlike mere human strength, God’s power is greater than any we could possibly imagine.
