Phil Pack has recently been hired to be the director of our Community First Center. He will be coordinating the food pantry and benevolence ministries of our church. Phil recently retired from the Oklahoma School for the Blind, but will continue his ministry as chaplain at the VA Hospital and teaching Spanish at Connors. Some reorganization is taking place in the food pantry and the days and hours are changing. Beginning July 1, the pantry will be open on Tuesday and Thursday mornings 10:00 a.m. until 12 noon and Tuesday evenings 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. We hope this will make the pantry available to those needing assistance who are working. To reach Phil or the pantry, you may call 918-351-8771.
We recently received a gift of $45,000 from a long time member that passed away many years ago. She had made provision for a family member until her death. Upon the death of this
family member, the money passed to us in the form of a trust. It was added to an existing trust we have with the Baptist Foundation of Oklahoma which benefits capital improvements. We will not see the actual $45,000, but will receive interest from it for years to come. Have you thought about what will happen to your assets at your death? Maybe this is something you would want to do. For more information, please contact the church office and speak with Billy Parker or contact the Baptist
Foundation directly at 888-480-6191.
Community First Center - Phil Pack
Falls Creek 2015 was an incredible week for FBC Students. Personally, it was the best week I have had at camp since I have been the student pastor. I am overwhelmingly grateful for God’s faithfulness towards us as He called 6 students to Himself to be saved, several more who repented of sin and turned back to Him, and Jared Pugh, who surrendered to the call of ministry upon his life. Friday night, many of our students shared that the entire week felt as though they were with family and not a bunch of strangers. I am thankful for the Holy Spirit’s working in that and allowing so many different kids, 90 to be exact, from all walks of life, to come together in unity under the gospel of Christ. We had 14 wonderful adult leaders who spent hours and hours each day and night building relationships with these students, speaking the gospel into their life, and counseling them about life issues and problems they knew they would face upon their return home and proclamation of following Jesus. I can’t thank our church family enough for your prayers and support during our week at Falls Creek.

FIRST Ladies - Gwen Coburn Can you believe it? The year is half over. Half of 2015 is in the books…. what are you doing with the second half? We have an idea for some fun. Join the women of the church for some burgers and games. The location is still up in the air because of some updates in the kitchen, but it is Tuesday night, July 28
at 6:30. Make plans now to come and enjoy a girl’s night out. In August, we will pray for our schools as they head back for another school year and September will bring the start of new Bible studies. Plan now to be a part of what is going on with FIRST Ladies.
Children and Worship
Before you take your child to a worship service:
− Pack a church bag with quiet activities such as paper and pencil. Kidville church bags are available in the Children’s
Ministry office.
− Explain what good church behavior looks like. For example, explain to your child that he will sit when everyone sits,
stand when everyone stands, and bow his head when someone prays. He can color or draw when the pastor begins to speak.
− Talk about worship at home. Explain to your child what will happen. Talk about words your child may hear such as
pew, congregation, and alter. Listen for other words you might want to explain to your child.
Just before going to worship:
− Take him to the restroom.
− Get a drink of water.
During worship:
− Gently prompt your child’s involvement in worship (standing at the appropriate times, bowing for prayer, speaking in
a whisper, etc.
− Encourage your child to shake hands and greet people at the appropriate time.
− Help your child find the sermon scripture in his Bible.
− Allow your child to give an offering and assist him in helping to pass the offering plate to the next person in the row.
Things your child will enjoy in worship: − Observing and following the example of his family and other worshipers.
− Observing stain glass windows and the architectural forms and beauty of the worship center.
− Sitting close to and even leaning on you, standing beside you, sitting on your lap, or holding your hand.
− Feeling like a “big Kid”.
After the worship service: − Thank your child for specific ways he participated.
− Talk about new words he learned.
− Ask what song he remembers.
− Answer questions he may have.
− Say a prayer of thanks for the pastor, music minister, choir and others who helped.

The Pastor Search Committee remains focused on finding the man God is yet preparing for FBC Muskogee. God will direct us to the man in His perfect timing. We are continuing to work through resumes and new contacts coming to us. Let us not grow weary in waiting for His precious will for FBC as the team continues the search. Your prayer support for God's direction and the team is a daily essential as we seek to accomplish what you elected us to do.
