ABOUT GOAL ZERO

POWER SUPPLYSAVES LIVES

GOAL ZERO has its origins in the field of humanitarian work. In 2007, GOAL ZERO founder Robert Workman developed an initial portable solar-energy prototype to provide the war-torn people of the Democratic Republic of Congo with a new, vital source of ener-gy – solar energy. During this undertaking, Robert Workman realised that there were people all over the world who didn’t have access to sources of electricity, i.e. to an important precondition for daily survi-val and a secure future.

Workman established GOAL ZERO with the idea of helping these people, launching a success story in the field of both humanitarian and technical work. Today, Robert Workman’s humanitarian work is being continued in the form of the aid organisation TIFIE – Teaching Individuals and Families Independence Through Enterprise.

GOAL ZERO donates a part of the proceeds it makes from the sale of its products to TIFIE.

BY jOE ATKIN, CEOGOAL ZERO’s mission is to empower people because we believe in human po-tential. The potential to go farther and do more than you ever thought possible; the potential to provide a sustainable future for you and your family; the poten-tial to make a difference in the lives of people every-where.

One of the outputs of that mission, and our vision, is to put power in the hands of every human being.

We start with giving to pro-grams like TIFIE and Share the Sun, where we set up projects to light villages and create sustainable power systems across the world. Our customers purchase products to power their lives, and can donate a portion of the sale to one of the projects. It comes full circle when we empower our emplo-yees and partners to get involved to complete the projects.

So why empower people? Because we believe in improving lives and our products do just that.
