Sewing Directions: Press all seams open and use ¼" seams, unless otherwise indicated.

Uneven Nine Patch Blossom NOTE: Directions will be for one 12" finished block. Make 16 blocks. 1. Sew one cream and one teal 3" finished half square

triangle (HST) (Shape 5) together as shown. Press seams open. Make 8 HST units.

2. Sew two HST units together as shown to made unit A. Make two-unit A’s.

3. Sew one-unit A’s to the right side of one cream 6” finished square (Shape 1) as shown. Turn the other unit A 180 degrees and sew to the left side of the cream 6” finished square as shown. Press seams open. To create unit B.

4. Sew one cream 3” finished square (Shape 2) to the left side of unit B. Sew one teal 3” finished square (Shape 2) to the right side of unit B to make unit C. Press seams open. Make 2-unit C’s.

5. Sew one-unit C to the bottom of 6” finished square/Unit B. Press seams open. Turn remaining unit C 180 degrees and sew to the top of 6” finished square/Unit B as shown. Press all seams open. Make 1—12” Uneven nine patch blossom block. Repeat with remaining 16 blocks.

Appliqué NOTE: Directions will be for one 12" finished block. Make 16 blocks. *You may choose to applique the 6” Finished squares before or after assembling the block.

Block One—Horse:

1—cream 6-1/2” square, 1—brown horse.

Layout, fuse, and applique brown horse on one cream 6-1/2” square, using the block image as reference. Make 4 blocks, 1-brown block, 2-teal blocks, and 1-red block.

Block Two—Double Horseshoe:

1—cream 6-1/2” square, 2—grey horseshoes.

Layout, fuse, and applique grey horseshoes on one cream 6-1/2” square, using block image as a reference. Make 3 blocks. 2-teal blocks, and 1-brown block

Block Three—Boot 1

1—cream 6-1/2” square, 1—cowboy boot (toe pointed to the left), and 1—2” yellow star.

Layout, fuse, and applique boot pieces on one cream 6-1/2” square, using block image as a reference. Center yellow star along the top of boot. Make 4 blocks. 2-teal blocks, and 2-red blocks.

Block Four—Boot 2

1—cream 6-1/2” square, 1—cowboy boot (toe pointed to the right), and 1—2” yellow star.

Layout, fuse, and applique boot pieces on one cream 6-1/2” square, using block image as a reference. Place yellow star along heel of boot. Make 3 blocks. 2 brown blocks and 1-yellow block.

Block Five—Horseshoe single

1—cream 6-1/2” square, 1—grey horseshoes.

Layout, fuse, and applique grey horseshoe on one cream 6-1/2” square, using block image as a reference. Make 2 blocks. 1-red block, and 1-yellow block.

Assemble the Quilt Top 1. Lay out blocks 16 blocks with

sashing and cornerstones as shown.

2. Pin and sew horizontal blocks and sashing strip rows. Press to sashing strips.

3. Pin and sew horizontal sashing strips and cornerstones. Press to sashing strips.

4. Pin and sew block/sashing rows to sashing strip/cornerstone rows. Press to sashing rows.

5. Sew together 6—2-1/2” (2” Finished strips with diagonal seams. Measure quilt and cut 2 border pieces that length from2-1/2” strips.

6. Pin and sew border strips to the right and left sides of quilt center. Press to borders.

7. Measure quilt and cut 2 border pieces that length from 2-1/2” strips.

Quilting and Finishing 1. Layer batting between quilt top and backing.

2. Pin or baste layers together.

3. Quilt as desired.

4. Add binding, mitering corners.
