Reduced our carbon footprint by 14.5%

Cut our electricity consumption by 16.5 % from energy efficiency measures

Reduced our gas consumption by 8.8%.

Installed solar energy schemes which generate 37,000kWh of ‘clean’ electricity each year

Cut water use at the Council offices by 63%

Diverted 1,500 tonnes of green waste from landfill into compost every year

Supported the Insulate Hampshire scheme which saved 7,850 tonnes of carbon dioxide.

Reduced the fuel used by Council staff for business by 18.3%.

Funded a Fuel Poverty Co-ordinator

Achieved Fairtrade Borough Status to help farmers in developing countries

Adopted planning policies to ensure new developments are ‘greener’

Only purchased paper which is Forestry Stewardship Certified (FSC) and ‘carbon off setted’

Improved numerous public open spaces for wildlife ...and lots, lots more!
