Sewing Directions: Press all seams open and use ¼" seams, unless otherwise indicated.

Chimney Sweep Block NOTE: Directions will be for one 10" finished block. Make 15 blocks. 1. Sew two white D triangles to sides of a purple C square.

Make two per block.

2. Sew two white D triangles to sides of a purple A rectangle. Make two per block.

3. In the same way sew two white D triangles to sides of two purple B rectangles and sew these to a center red C square. Make two per block.

4. Sew two white E triangles to ends of two purple B rectangles and sew these to a center red A rectangle.

5. Sew a white E triangle to the top of unit with

small C purple square. Repeat with other unit.

6. Sew unit with purple A rectangle to the top of

the unit with the center C red square. Repeat with other unit.

7. Sew units together with center unit to make block.

Mosaic Block NOTE: Directions will be for one 10" finished block. Make 15 blocks. 1. Sew two white Quarter Square Triangles (QSTs) to

sides of one red 4-1/16” square. Make two per block.

2. Sew one white Half Square Triangle (HST) to the top of a center red square unit. Repeat with the other unit.

3. Sew two white HSTs to one side of two red 4-1/16” squares. Sew these to a purple 4-1/16” square.

4. Sew units together to finish block.

Assemble the Quilt Top 1. Lay out blocks in six rows of five blocks each as shown

in quilt diagram (next page). Sew blocks together into rows. Press seams to one side.

2. Sew rows together. Press seams in opposite directions.

3. Cut two 2-1/2” white width of fabric (WOF) strips in half, sew these to ends of remaining four strips.

4. Trim two strips to 60-1/2” and sew to sides of quilt. Press toward border strips.

5. Trim remaining two strips to 54-1/2” and sew to top and bottom of quilt. Press toward border strips.

Quilting and Finishing 1. Layer batting between quilt top and backing.

2. Pin or baste layers together.

3. Quilt as desired.

4. Make and add binding from seven 2-1/2” strips, mitering corners.
