Kilarney’s has closed down and can no

longer sponsor us. This week we will be

heading over to Cactus Cantina after the

games to enjoy some WAKA specials.

This is my second season playing WAKA Kickball. I am the oldest member in our

league (that's a hoot), especially when the youngin's can't handle my head first slide

into second base. Both my son, my daughter, stepson and their mates are playing

this season along with fellow co-workers. WAKA is "memories" in the making; the

parties, the banter, the competition, the friendships and most of all the family unity.

Rule of the Week:

Obstruction

Fielders must stay out of the baseline unless making an active play for the

ball. Fielders trying to make an out on base may have their foot on base,

but must lean out of the baseline. Runners hindered by any fielder within

the baseline, not making an active play for the ball, shall be safe at the

base.

Tip of the Week:

Never hold the ball, especially in the outfield. Runners will keep on going until the ball is back to the pitcher. Remember, the play is only over once the pitcher has the ball on the mound!
