What You Must Know When Feeding Genetically Modified Commercial Feed to Your Horse
Every day we are bombarded with the detrimental effects of chemicals in our food and in the products we put on our bodies. We do what we can not to consume these products but let’s be
honest, living a completely organic lifestyle is expensive and can be cost prohibitive for most of us.
However, if we only partially change the food we consume and products we use, we will improve our lives and we can do the same for our horses. Those changes, although they may be small can have a profound impact. They can make a massive difference in the health of our horses and the chemical exposure that confronts them day after day.
As humans, we have choices in the products we use and the foods we consume. Our horses do not have that capability; we need to make those informed healthy choices for them.
We can no longer hide our heads in the sand on this topic. For years we’ve been reading studies and scientific journals
about the damaging effects of GMOs and associated herbicides. One of these toxic culprits is the main ingredient in Monsanto’s Roundup, called glyphosate.
Glyphosate based herbicides are also private labeled and marketed by over 150 companies worldwide under various brand names. Since glyphosate is used on 75-95% of corn, soybeans, sugar beets, and alfalfa grown in this country, it is impossible to avoid the residue of this dangerous herbicide in your horse’s feed and in our food human chain.
There is overwhelming worldwide documented research data confirming the deleterious effects of glyphosate on soil, plants, bacteria, animals, and humans. It’s easy to find the data by searching the web for glyphosate and you will uncover
a host of shocking information on its dangers.
Via this link you can also go to the National Library of Medicine’s citation database MEDLINE. There you will find that glyphosate-based agri-chemicals have now been connected to some 40 different health conditions, including Parkinson’s,
Leukemia and others. To read more on these disturbing facts go to http://www.greenmedinfo.com/toxic-ingredient/glyphosate-formulations.
The bottom line here is that when a glyphosate contaminated plant is digested, the glyphosate in the plant is released into the horses gut and ties up (chelates) vital minerals necessary to the horse’s health.
This can cause Gastro-Intestinal (GI) problems, lameness, stiffness, lethargy, weight loss, and diarrhea. It can also cause and present itself as a whole host of other symptoms seen as Lyme Disease, Cushing’s, Vaccinosis and much more. So,
the goal is to protect the horse from the negative effects of glyphosate found in your horse’s feed and also alleviate the
toxic effects of formaldehyde, which is the major end product of glyphosate degradation.
Once again, it would be nice if we could all feed our horses only organic feeds, but this would be much more expensive and not available to everyone. Instead, StemPhase has developed a simple and very affordable solution to the dangers of glyphosate.
The simple solution is to add two organic, natural and GMO FREE supplements to your horse’s present diet. If you love the commercial feed you are feeding your horse, you can continue, but by simply adding two supplements - DTX Formula and micronutrient Plus it will revitalize your horse’s gut health. What these two products do is unlock the intestinal gridlock caused by glyphosate in your current feed, and thereby allow access to the vital nutrients your horse needs.
==========
* DTX Formula is a pelleted style formula which you simply top dress to your horse’s regular diet to help unlock the
nutrients so your horse gets the nutrition it needs. The concept behind this product is that it pulls the toxins in your horse’s gut together and allows them to exit the horse’s body safely via the manure
* micronutrient Plus is a complete amino acid profile building block that contains natural GMO FREE ingredients and when used together with DTX Formula on a daily basis, this powerful combination of these two products reduces inflammation and allows your horse to unlock, digest, utilize, and absorb the vital nutrition it needs.
By Using DTX Formula and micronutrient Plus, you will noticeably find in just a few short weeks you will have a more vibrant and healthier, happier horse. For more information about these StemPhase Biomedical products go to www.stemphase.com

KAM Animal Services recently sent out a press release that I truly feel is so important that it isworthy of repeating. I'm going to include the copy verbatim as it really is an eye opener. So, takesome time now to read how GMO affects horses and what you can do about it. Here is what thatpress release said:

What You Must Know When FeedingGenetically Modified Commercial Feed toYour Horse
Every day we are bombarded with the detrimental effects of chemicals in our food and in the products we put on our
bodies. We do what we can not to consume these products but let’s be honest, living a completely organic lifestyle is
expensive and can be cost prohibitive for most of us. However, if we only partially change the food we consume and
products we use, we will improve our lives and we can do the same for our horses.
Those changes, although they may be small can have a profound impact. They can make a massive difference in the
health of our horses and the chemical exposure that confronts them day after day.
As humans, we have choices in the products we use and the foods we consume. Our horses do not have that
capability; we need to make those informed healthy choices for them.
We can no longer hide our heads in the sand on this topic. For years we’ve been reading studies and scientific
journals about the damaging effects of GMOs and associated herbicides. One of these toxic culprits is called
glyphosate.
Glyphosate based herbicides are also private labeled and marketed by over 150 companies worldwide under various
brand names. Since glyphosate is used on 75-95% of corn, soybeans, sugar beets, and alfalfa grown in this country,
it is impossible to avoid the residue of this dangerous herbicide in your horse’s feed and in our food human chain.
There is overwhelming worldwide documented research data confirming the deleterious effects of glyphosate on
soil, plants, bacteria, animals, and humans. It’s easy to find the data by searching the web for glyphosate and you
will uncover a host of shocking information on its dangers.
Via this link you can also go to the National Library of Medicine’s citation database MEDLINE. There you will find
that glyphosate-based agri-chemicals have now been connected to some 40 different health conditions,
including Parkinson’s, Leukemia and others. To read more on these disturbing facts go to
http://www.greenmedinfo.com/toxic-ingredient/glyphosate-formulations.
The bottom line here is that when a glyphosate contaminated plant is digested, the glyphosate in the plant is
released into the horses gut and ties up (chelates) vital minerals necessary to the horse’s health.
This can cause Gastro-Intestinal (GI) problems, lameness, stiffness, lethargy, weight loss, and diarrhea. It can
also cause and present itself as a whole host of other symptoms seen as Lyme Disease, Cushing’s, Vaccinosis and
much more. So, the goal is to protect the horse from the negative effects of glyphosate found in your horse’s feed
and also alleviate the toxic effects of formaldehyde, which is the major end product of glyphosate degradation.
Once again, it would be nice if we could all feed our horses only organic feeds, but this would be much more
expensive and not available to everyone. Instead, StemPhase has developed a simple and very affordable solution to
the dangers of glyphosate.
The simple solution is to add two organic, natural and GMO FREE supplements to your horse’spresent diet. If you love the commercial feed you are feeding your horse, you can continue, but bysimply adding two supplements - DTX Formula and micronutrient Plus it will revitalize your horse’sgut health. What these two products do is unlock the intestinal gridlock caused by glyphosate in yourcurrent feed, and thereby allow access to the vital nutrients your horse needs.

From: [email protected] on behalf of Customer Service <[email protected]>Sent: Friday, February 07, 2014 12:38 PMTo: DianaSubject: Fwd: Would You Wear Those Boots??
Welcome back to your regular diet of weekend goodness from HorseConscious! First off, I would like to send out a thank you out to Diana who contacted this week me on the subject of genetically modified (GMO) feed for horses. I haven't had chance to look into it thoroughly yet so if you have an opinion or relevant information on the subject, I would like to hear from you. Simply reply to this email and tell me of your experience or insight. If there's enough interest, we may then hold a call to discuss the whole GMO subject as Diana can put me in touch with some particularly well informed people. So anyway, please let me know.
On a housekeeping note, a number of people were experiencing issues with posting comments to the site, so we have decided to revert back to using the standard commenting system for the time being. The only major downside is that it does not bring comments across from Facebook, so I would therefore encourage you to comment directly beneath each article on the main HorseConscious site if possible. Thank you.
With reference to the subject line of today's email, our first article this week is from Nancy where we hear more from Warrior, who we first met a few weeks back here: The Story Of Warrior And Kara Today Nancy looks at an issue that may affect more horses than one might think. She wanted Warrior to go shoeless but as he has ongoing problems with his hooves, she needed to find another solution. Read all about it here:
http://www.horseconscious.com/equipment/warriors-new-shoes It would be interesting to hear of your experiences with your horse wearing boots too, so please join the conversation below the article.
Next we catch up once again with Tom Ventham and his family on their epic journey on foot with their horse Maggie from the UK to the Pyrenees in northern Spain. Today, destination reached!
http://www.horseconscious.com/inspiration/toms-journey-part-5 In case you missed out on the previous episodes in the series, I have added links at the foot of each article so you can read them all in sequence. Well worth doing!
And last but not least, an article from one of the HorseConscious Advisory Board Kim McElroy as she discusses how and where she draws her inspiration to create her wonderful art:
http://www.horseconscious.com/inspiration/the-eye-of-the-beholder
By the way, we will shortly be making available a T-shirt featuring one of Kim's lovely spirit sketches. So oer the weekend on Facebook there is a poll where you get to choose the quote we put with the sketch on the front of the shirt. If you are a Facebook user, we would love your vote here: http://bit.ly/Choose_The_Quote
Further to last week's announcement, and in case you thought I'd forgotten, I'm just rounding a few more prizes before we launch the HorseConscious Grand Prize Draw! So let me give you a heads-up on how it will work. You earn points for spreading the word about HorseConscious through the contest. The more points you accumulate the greater your chance of winning one of the prizes as each point is effectively 1 ticket in the draw. So if we end up with, say, 20 prizes we will pick 20 winning 'tickets' and the holders of those tickets will win the prizes. Don't worry if that sounds complicated though - simply spread the word as far and wide as can and the points will take care of themselves!

GMO/GE Horse Feed
I was first introduced to the terms GMO/GE when an editor from Natural Horse Magazine asked me if our
Horse Moms Organic Equine supplements contained any GMO/GE ingredients and I was surprised because I
never heard those terms before. I checked with our suppliers and happy to say our Horse Moms organic and
natural equine supplements are GMO/GE free. {so that was a good thing}
It’s such an important topic since it affects human health as well as animal health.
This issue prompted me to start doing my own research about GMO/GE to educate myself about what it was and
how it affected me, my family and my animals. What I found was startling mainly because our government has
allowed these types of foods into our food supply directly and indirectly.
Here’s what the terms mean
(GMO) stands for genetically modified organisms and (GE) stands for genetically
engineered. These are interchangeable terms and indicate that a food, meat or plant food
sources have been genetically engineered by modern science.
GMO/GE process is altering the natural DNA of an organism with DNA molecules
from different sources, which are combined into one molecule to create a new set of genes. This DNA is then

As humans, we have choices in the products we use
and the foods we consume. Our horses do not have that
capability; we need to make those informed healthy
choices for them.
We can no longer hide our heads in the sand on this
topic. For years we’ve been reading studies and
scientific journals about the damaging effects of GMOs and associated herbicides. One of these
toxic culprits is the main ingredient in Monsanto’s Roundup, called glyphosate.
Glyphosate based herbicides are also private labeled and marketed by over 150 companies
worldwide under various brand names. Since glyphosate is used on 75-95% of corn, soybeans,
sugar beets, and alfalfa grown in this country, it is impossible to avoid the residue of this
dangerous herbicide in your horse’s feed and in our food human chain.

There is overwhelming worldwide documented research data confirming the deleterious effects
of glyphosate on soil, plants, bacteria, animals, and humans. It’s easy to find the data by
searching the web for glyphosate and you will uncover a host of shocking information on its
dangers.
different health conditions, including Parkinson’s, Leukemia and others. To read more on these
disturbing facts go to http://www.greenmedinfo.com/toxic-ingredient/glyphosate-formulations.
The bottom line here is that when a glyphosate contaminated plant is digested, the glyphosate in
the plant is released into the horses gut and ties up (chelates) vital minerals necessary to the
horse’s health.
This can cause Gastro-Intestinal (GI) problems, lameness, stiffness, lethargy, weight loss, and
diarrhea. It can also cause and present itself as a whole host of other symptoms seen as Lyme
Disease, Cushing’s, Vaccinosis and much more. So, the goal is to protect the horse from the
negative effects of glyphosate found in your horse’s feed and also alleviate the toxic effects of
formaldehyde, which is the major end product of glyphosate degradation.
Once again, it would be nice if we could all feed our horses only organic feeds, but this would be
much more expensive and not available to everyone. Instead, KAM Animal Services has
developed a simple and very affordable solution to the dangers of glyphosate.
The simple solution is to add two organic, natural and GMO FREE supplements to your horse’s
present diet. If you love the commercial feed you are feeding your horse, you can continue, but
by simply adding two supplements - KAM DTX Formula and KAM micronutrient Plus - it will
revitalize your horse’s gut health. What these two products do is unlock the intestinal gridlock
caused by glyphosate in your current feed, and thereby allow access to the vital nutrients your
horse needs.
========
* KAM-DTX Formula is a pelleted style formula which you simply top dress to your horse’s
regular diet to help unlock the nutrients so your horse gets the nutrition it needs. The concept
behind this product is that it pulls the toxins in your horse’s gut together and allows them to exit
the horse’s body safely via the manure.
* KAM’s micronutrient Plus is a complete amino acid profile building block that contains natural
GMO FREE ingredients and when used together with DTX Formula on a daily basis, this
powerful combination reduces inflammation and allows your horse to unlock , digest, utilize, and
absorb the vital nutrition it needs.
By using KAM DTX Formula and KAM micronutrient Plus, you will find in just a few short weeks
you will have a more vibrant and healthier, happier horse. For more information about these
products go to www.KAMAnimalServices.com.
