That was a quickly worded reply to one person but since it went to the group, the rosh yeshiva in Miami once said that the horaoh from an atheist is that when it comes to helping another Jew we don't wait for Hashem. Maybe we can split up Tehillim or do something else like sponsor a shiur in Sydney. Hope someone there is making a farbrengen. Me we hear good news but lets each do our part.

Dear Holy Crusaders,

In response to the various emails suggesting Tehillim, which specific Tehillim to say, giving tzedoko, farbrenging, making shiurim in Sydney & the Rebbe:

I am a friend of Gug. I wish him well & I do not want him to suffer in any way.

At the same time this whole thing is not that simple.

It appears that 2 wrongs have been perpetrated. One against young victims & the other by communal

leaders who are said to have been silent & possibly actively protecting perpetrators.

Ensuring the safety of children in the future & the responsibility of communal leaders, unfortunately cannot be achieved without accountability. That is the nature of this type situation, when energy has been primarily allocated to keeping things quiet.

How do you invoke, Hashem, Tehillim, tzedoko, the Rebbe & farbrengens on one side of the equation, as if you are so certain which side G-d is on? Have you called on Tehillim etc for the sake of the victims & to protect children in the future?

This discussion is shameful. I do not want to be part of this.

One small point: If we want to get to the truth, we can't judge others based on court or based on allegations. Gug had to cut a deal and this is highly politicized and many have been wrongly convicted as a result. I certainly don't judge people based on media articles, which is also usually a surefire way of not getting the truth. I'll just add another point. But in other cases, if you'd ask me if a man in his 50s should be punished for allegations made about his youth, I'd say that this is not a good way to go about it and would actually hinder larger efforts to stop child abuse {don't want to start a whole thing by mentioning the reasons - as they don't apply in this case - but let's leave it at it's not good policy and doesn't prevent abuse}. In this case there's more than enough factual reason to give him the benefit of the doubt and no harm can come from helping someone who we all know to be a good man who's suffered more than anyone like him should ever know. I have just read the SMH online report. Anyone who equates the tzidkus of Gug with the rishus of Kramer and Cyprus is completely out of their mind. Gug has no recollect.ion of the incident and so we are relying on a12 year old's memory. Im sure he has moved on with his life as it seems he has. Married and children. And money from Gug as an apology. Will the idiot who incited all this please rise and move on with his life too.

I agree. We should all send Gug loving positive energy. He is a good person and does a tremendous amount of good most of it he doesn't even get paid for. It would serve no purpose for him to go to jail other than harm him and others close to him. In America there is a statute of limitations for a reason.
