We know what we want: an inclusive & just clean-energy Democracy. We know we can getthis done together. We’re smart, activated, dedicated and relentless. We know the path forward:through dogged, focused, beautiful and sometimes creatively disruptive: 1) public policyadvocacy, 2) direct pressure on decision-makers, 3) citizen engagement at every level, and 4)challenging the system of unjust laws, whatever that takes.

BIG NEWS: We start 2018 having surpassed our fundraising goal of $3,000 for our OregonFracked Gas Resistance campaign! YOU made this happen! We are humbled and grateful.Thank you, each one of you. (If you’ve waited to contribute to this amazing grassrootsCAMPAIGN OF THE YEAR, it’s not too late! Donate here: http://world.350.org/eugene/donate/)

Grassroots organizing gets the goods! It always has. It always will. Action is the antidote todespair. Our collective efforts embody hope.

Oregon Fracked Gas Resistance Campaign Update

We are making stellar progress, and can’t stop now… We’re going to kill this project.

- Nov. 27th - Oregon Land Use Board of Appeals blocked the terminal land use permit, remanding it back to Coos County due to multiple errors;- Dec. 4th - In a Dept. of Justice FERC filing, the Oregon Department of Geology and MineralIndustries (DOGAMI) raised serious concerns with the project’s analysis of earthquake andtsunami risks, saying the analysis is severely flawed and inadequate;- Dec. 7th - Sen. Merkley came out against the project; Call him at (541) 608-9102 to thankhim for standing with our communities! Or email him here: https://www.merkley.senate.gov/contact/

Read his Guest Opinion in the Medford Mail Tribune: We can create infrastructure jobswithout jeopardizing our future here: http://www.mailtribune.com/opinion/20171207/guest-opinion-we-can-create-infrastructure-jobs-without-jeopardizing-our-future

- And… don’t forget about the RECORD-BREAKING number of interveners in the FERC reviewprocess, including Tribes, landowners, conservation & climate groups!

On the same day, Oil Change International and the No LNG Exports Coalition are releasinga groundbreaking report that will show the full climate impacts of the proposed Jordan Coveproject from fracking in Colorado, Wyoming, or Canada to burning the gas overseas. This willbe the first lifecycle greenhouse gas emissions analysis of the entire project.

Gov. Brown and her State Agencies have the authority to deny state permits and stop this projectonce and for all. Brown recently returned from COP 23 climate talks where she said, “Despite thedecision by the White House to retreat from leadership on climate, I see it as not only our moralobligation, but an economic imperative to lead in the fight against climate change.” We couldn’tagree more.

REI, Divest! Campaign Update

REI, Divest! Why does a cooperative that claims to be an environmental steward bank on WallStreet and offer a USBank credit card? Banking is stewardship, too! So many ways to help byspreading the word on this divestment campaign (a great opportunity to talk "keeping it in theground").

You can find several of the ideas/links to the actions below here at www.opt4climate.org • sign the national online petition here AND encourage others to join you • email around the online petition/post it on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter... • tell REI to close the USBank credit card/move bk. accounts to credit unions • tell USBank and Wells Fargo to stop lending to fossil fuel companies • close your credit card account with USBank/REI AND tell them why • have "climate chats" with REI members/outdoor enthusiasts-gather data • write letters to the editor • more ideas here: including gathering signatures on hard copy petitions
