Topcon Extended Warranty Program

Select instruments in each Topcon product line have been identified as candidates for our Extended Warranty Program. The extended warranty will be sold at point of sale to end user by part number through Topcon Service. Dealers must register the extended warranty with Topcon Service. A copy of customer invoice will be required for registration. Extended warranty offers identical coverage to the standard coverage and becomes effective upon expiration of the standard warranty. Topcon’s Laser & Electronic

Positioning Equipment Warranty

Topcon’s laser and electronic positioning equipment is guaranteed against defective material and workmanship under normal use and application consistent with the literature distributed with this product. The equipment is guaranteed for the period indicated by this warranty extension, starting from the date that the product is sold to the original purchaser by Topcon’s Authorized Dealers. * During the warranty period, Topcon will at its option, repair or replace this product at no additional charge. Repair parts and replacement products will be furnished on an exchange basis and will be either reconditioned or new. This limited warranty does not include service to repair damage to the product resulting from an accident, disaster, misuses, abuse or modification of the product. Warranty service may be obtained from an authorized Topcon warranty service dealer. If this product is delivered by mail, purchaser agrees to insure the product or assume the risk of loss or damage in transit, to prepay shipping charges to the warranty service location and to use the original shipping container or equivalent. A letter should accompany the package furnishing a description of the problem and/ or defect. The purchaser’s sole remedy shall be replacement as provided above. In no event shall Topcon be liable for damages or other claim including any claim for lost profits, lost savings or other incidental or consequential damages arising out of the use of or inability to use the product. *The warranty against defects in any Topcon battery, charger or cable is 90 days.

There are two primary levels of “Members only” registration to TotalCare. While a Guest registration provides access to FREE materials such as product pages, a standard registration (requiring basic account information and the registration of their Topcon Product), allows greater access including training calendars, manuals, and sample Topcon University lessons. A paid registration (subscription) gains exclusive access to all software downloads, training materials, discussion boards, and technical support services.



Section 7 – Scanner Maintenance

Cleaning & Calibration Service: Topcon recommends a cleaning and calibration service be performed on an annual basis. At time of service, a complete system check of the unit will be conducted. A certificate of calibration will be provided upon completion of service.

Maintenance does not extend hardware warranty. Warranty coverage is 12 months starting from the date that the scanner is sold to the original purchaser by Topcon’s Authorized Dealer.

Service is typically scheduled/ performed after the first year of ownership and recommended annually each year thereafter.

No shipping fees are covered as part of this service; all shipping fees are the responsibility of the scanner owner.

If warranty servicing is required, it will be performed with no warranty fees being charged to the purchaser. Warranty coverage is 12 months from the date of original purchase. If the unit is not covered by warranty, and additional parts or service costs are determined necessary as part of the calibration, an estimate will be provided to the customer for this non-warranty service.

No loaner equipment is provided for as part of this maintenance. Updates and/ or minor upgrades to scanner firmware will be provided by electronic delivery

or web posting. For calibration service price quote and instructions on where to send the unit at time of

service, Dealers should contact Topcon Service Support: 1 (866) 4-TOPCON or [email protected].



Section 8 – Educational Program

Educational Partnership Program (EPP): As a world leader in precision measurement systems and technologies, Topcon recognizes the value of strong educational programs in the areas of surveying, engineering, GIS, agriculture and construction technology. To support the efforts of educational institutions across the globe, TEBU is proud to participate in the Educational Partnership Program (EPP). The EPP aims to arm our partner institutions with not only discounted product, but a full range of tools to aid in educating the future generations of surveyors, engineers, precision agriculture, and construction professionals. Today, in an ongoing effort to better serve the ever expanding needs of educators, the EPP is now part of the Strategic Marketing Programs (SMP) organization. Understanding the budget and logistical challenges that Colleges and Universities face when seeking to introduce state-of-the-art technology such as 3D Laser Scanning into their programs, TEBU looks to streamline the procurement process by offering a simplified package that includes the GLS-2000 and a single license of ScanMaster Software at a 35% discount to the Educator, and 10% additional discount to the Dealer. Training by Topcon University (Certified) Trainer must be added seperately.

(EPP) General Requirements

In order to receive EPP pricing, a letter printed on School letterhead must be submitted to TEBU stating the educational purposes for which the equipment is to be used.

All quotations under the EPP must include Topcon University (Certified) Training. At delivery of Training by a TU representative, Partner resource(s) responsible for account management shall actively participate.

Products furnished under the EPP may only be used for educational purposes consistent with the description previously stated in letter submitted to TEBU

Help Desk requests through the web - Response time: 2 business hours.

Incoming call - Response time: In the event the Agent can’t help, a case # will be provided and & call back within 4 business hours.

Email Message - Response time: 24 business hours (2 days worst case)



Section 10 – Dealer Demo Policy

GLS-2000/ ScanMaster Software: Authorized Laser Scanning Dealers may purchase “demo” GLS-2000 Laser Scanner Kits and ScanMaster (v3.0) software licenses at a (47%) discount off the published Retail price. The number of demo units that may be purchased is based on the authorized location(s)/ territory with assigned sales resources. All orders placed at Dealer “demo” discount must have prior approval of the Sales Manager-Laser Scanning, and are subject to the following restrictions:

Laser Scanner kits and Software licenses purchased as Dealer “demo” systems may not be resold within 12 months from date of purchase.

Dealer “demo” systems must be maintained with current FW/ SW versions during the initial 12 month period.

Section 11 – Sales Tools

System Configuration Checklist: Working in a consultative manner, Authorized Laser Scanning Dealers should make every effort to fully understand the customer’s application(s) before building a system configuration. While GLS-Series Laser Scanners are sold as kits, due to their versatility - additional targets, scanner accessories, or tripods are likely to be needed to fully round-out a completely configured system. The following checklist is designed to help guide sales people through the core components of a Laser Scanner system configuration.

GLS-Series Laser Scanner ❶

Both the GLS-2000 and GLS-1500 Laser Scanners come in pre-configured kits, complete w/ carrying case for transport.

Targets, Accessories, etc. ❷

Based on intended application(s), certain additional targets, accessories, and/ or tripod(s) should be built into the system configuration.

ScanMaster Software ❸

Each GLS-Series Laser Scanner sold to a new customer should have at least one (1) license of ScanMaster software included as part of the system configuration.

TotalCareSupport ❹

Each GLS-Series Laser Scanner sold to a new customer should have a TotalCare Subscription included as part of the system configuration. Dealers may wish to bundle their own support offerings with TotalCare Subscription for even greater value.

❺ Training

Authorized Laser Scanning Dealers are expected to offer their own training program in the system configuration. For a GLS-Series Laser Scanner sold to a new customer, it is recommended that a Basic-level training program include 3-days of instruction covering at a minimum: scanner operation, care, & maintenance and scan data processing in ScanMaster software including registration, geo-referencing, & point cloud export to customer CAD design platforms.
