These awards shine the spotlight on the women at the heart of the Gloucestershire business community.

Now, in their sixth year the Women in Business Awards are all about celebrating success and paying tribute to those whose determination and success is helping to drive the county’s economy.

Over the years, the event has got bigger and better honouring everyone from female apprentices to chief executives and senior managers. We want the 2015 awards to be no exception and there are plenty of ways to get involved in the event.

Sarah Pullen, managing director of Gloucestershire Media, publisher of the Gloucester Citizen, Gloucestershire Echo and Stroud Life said: “We have been running the Women in Business Awards for a number of years and I am delighted to see they have gone from strength to strength.

The Heart of Gloucestershire Community Awards are now in their eighth year and continue to go from strength to strength.

We hear a lot about the Big Society these days, but our county has always been enhanced by people who think nothing of doing something for others. These awards are all about thanking them for what they do and giving them the credit they deserve.

Following the successful launch of our Apprenticeships Awards in 2012, it is one of the newest events added to our portfolio. Now in their fourth year, the 2014 awards were held at the Hatherley Manor, Gloucester on 12th June 2014 and the launch event was attended by HRH the Duke of York.

The Gloucestershire Apprenticeships Awards recognise both businesses that help drive apprenticeship schemes in our county as well as those apprentices.

The awards are designed to celebrate the achievements of individual apprentices, training providers / support network and businesses that employ apprentices and so offer a development programme for apprentices.

New to our events calendar in 2011, the Taste of Gloucestershire Food and Farming Awards was a resounding success celebrating all that is great about locally produced food and drink from the farm gate to the plate.

The event celebrates farmers, producers, retailers and those pubs and restaurants that we enjoy visiting so much.

The success of the awards are hugely reliant on our sponsors. Their financial contribution has ensured that our events are of the highest standard and as a major part of the judging process, they ensure that this is always unbiased; as they bring their own particular specialised knowledge and expertise to the table.
