Genesis—Beginnings God Creates Man—Genesis 1:24-27
1. Man is __________ “in God’s image.” 2. Man is given __________ over the fish, birds, animals, and even
earth itself. 3. The word “created” is __________. -God created __________ from nothing (v. 1) -God created __________ life (v. 21) -God created __________ (v. 27) -Body (__________) -Soul (__________) -Spirit (life with God-__________)
“It is as though God put exclamation points here to indicate that there is something special about the creation of man.” Francis Schaeffer
Men and women possess the attributes of __________, as God him-self does, but the animals, plants and matter do not.
Man is created in the image of God by possessing __________. -This includes two further elements: - __________ and __________.
“posse non peccare (“able not to sin”) has become a non posse non peccare (“not able not to sin”).” Augustine
Man is created in the image of God by possessing __________.
How Can A Young Man Cleanse His Way?
Psalm 119:9
1. __________ the Word.
2. __________ the Word.
3. __________ the Word.
Q & A: “How can a young man cleanse his way?” In and of our-
selves, we can’t; it is impossible. But God provides the way with
His Word. So know it…..study it…..learn it…..fill your mind with
it. Stow it….in your hearts through memorization and meditation.
Then show it….in your life and lips. Then, as Joshua 1:8 de-
clares, “you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.”
