ABOUT BUGEMA COMMUNITY CHILD BASED ORGANIZATION:

Bugema Community Child Based Organization (BCCBO) UGANDA was incepted in 2012 by Social Workers, Counselors, Community Health Workers, Community Development Workers and other Professionals, after identifying, noticing, realizing and analyzing that there was/ is a great need to help disadvantaged children (Girl Child) to have access to Health Care, Safe Drinking Water, Nutritious Food, Shelter, Education, Legal Protection, Training, Job Skills, Entrepreneurship and Vocational Skills so that they can thrive.

BCCBO is a Community Based Organization registered with the Government of The Republic of Uganda with Certificate Number CD-017, 2012.

CURRENT COMMUNITY PROJECTS:

You and us, are placing effort, energy and other resources on Girl Child in Rural Uganda. Girls are the agent of change. They play a crucial role in solving the most persistent development problems facing the world today. For them to achieve that, they (Girl Child) need to have access to Health Care, Safe Drinking Water, Nutritious Food, Shelter, Education, Legal Protection, Training, Job Skills, Entrepreneurship and Vocational Skills. This is the reason and purpose for which you and Bugema Community Child Based Organization (BCCBO) exist to see.

PROJECT NAME:

EMPOWER 470 GIRL CHILDREN IN RURAL UGANDA

Summary

There are more than 4 million adolescent girls aged 6-24 living in pervasive hunger, systemic deprivation and poverty in Rural Uganda. By giving one of these girls a chance, you start the girl effect. When girls have access to health care, safe drinking water, nutritious food, shelter, education, legal protection, training and job skills, they can thrive. When they shrive, everyone around them thrives too.

What is the issue, problem, or challenge?

Here are three solid, unique, genuine and reliable reasons why we want you to invest your time, energy, and capital in an adolescent girl: (1) Girls are agents of change. They play a crucial role in solving the most persistent development problems facing the world today. (2) People assume girls are being reached, but they aren't. (3) The cost of excluding girls is high. In Uganda, adolescent pregnancy results in lost potential income. The question isn't "why girls?" It's "why do we have to wait?"

How will this project solve this problem?

There are many ways to help. Send a girl to school. Help fight her legal case, Give her a microloan and help her solve the social, economic & environmental problems she faces through entrepreneurship.

Potential Long Term Impact

When a girl gets a chance, gets educated, stays healthy and HIV-negative, marries when she chooses, and raises a healthy family, she can raise the standard of living for herself, her brothers, her family, her community, and her country. To break the cycle of intergenerational poverty, programmes must be designed for, and measure the impact on, girls.

Together we make a difference in a girl child’s life in Rural Uganda.
