Background     Outsourcing  &  Offshoring  are  core  to  modern  IT

–  development,  maintenance,  hos3ng,  …

Globally  [2007]  –  65%  of  US  &  EU  enterprises  currently  use  offshore  providers  for  applica3on  development

–  another  13%  plan  to       NaIonally  [2004]

–  ~100%  large  DK  companies    outsource

–  ~50%  of  SMEs

Danske virksomheders outsourcing

9

Research  –  Going  from  outsourcing  to  collabora3on  –  Establishing  the  “kit”  that  makes  collabora3on  succeed

•  rela3onships,  trust,  processes,  methods,  prac3ces,  tools,  technologies,  …  –  Special  focus  on  “requirement  specifica3on”

•  In  principle  :  how  to  support  an  agile  &  itera3ve  development  methodology  –  globally

EducaIon  –  The  students  of  today  lives  in  a  globalized  world,  and  will  work  in  one  –  It  is  extremely  important  that  educa3on  takes  globaliza3on  into

account  •  Teaches  students  how  to  handle  global  processes  •  Embed  them  into  global  teaching  ac3vi3es
